The Fortress of Tritan is a mighty modern fortress on the island by the same name. The fortress commands the passage of Tritan, a narrow but safe ocean passage along the coast of Ryva, which is frequented by merchants due to its pleasant winds and calm seas.

Purpose / Function

The Fortress' main purpose is to command the strait it overlooks. Its mighty naval guns can reach out across the narrow passage all the way to the other shore. Ships passing the passage of Tritan are compelled to pay a toll for usage of the passage. The fortress serves the secondary purpose of being the main stronghold of the military forces of the nearby city of Sarrow.

Defenses

The fortress is a modern and well maintained fortress. It boasts thick sloped walls in a star formation, with a great many layers of defensive works. Towards the sea it has a number of heavy naval guns, while towards the landward side it possesses more conventional artillery. The fortress is normally manned by a large garrison of more than a thousand men.
