Demoarchos Neophytos Apollo Themistokles Kepheus
Neophytos, as with many citizens of Stratos, served in the military. He served with distinction, climbing the ranks and eventually being placed in charge of a light calvary platoon (60 souls) in the Hippeis arm of the Straten army. While he is proficient in all forms of combat and military formations, he preferred to be on horse back.
With only bandits and small pockets of goblins to content with, there weren't many large scale conflicts that allowed him to fully prove his mettle to his commanding officers. He wanted to continue his growth and development as a leader, so he decided to go into politics and advance there. Using all the tools he had, he eventually was given a mayoral assignment in Maccion.
With the fort being close by, and the opportunity to make Maccion more than a small Hamlet, Neophytos, now Demoarchos Kepheus went to his new assignment. His goals were to tame the wilderness area around Maccion, and turn it into a sustainable trade hub.
Neophytos is known by the people who serve him as fair, brave and tactical. He does everything he can by the book, but is open to creative solutions to unique issues. He keeps his person and place neat and organized, as he learned through his military experience.
Relationship with the Pan Flute 5
Neophytos knew most of the Pan Flute 5 before they were an official group, having some of the members lived there for some time during his assignment. He would get to know them more after the group was thrown together during an otherwise small dust up at the Imperfect Pan Flute Inn (his first appearance is here). After the scuffle, Neophytos gave the group their first job, which was to investigate north of Maccion and search for missing scouts he had sent days before. After that, the group would encounter and further work with the Demoarchos on various jobs. While it was clear that he preferred working with some of the more measured ones of the group, he treated them all fairly. This was even after he discerned that Aeric was an elf. After the Battle of Maccion, he would consider them friends of himself as well as the town. The group was critical in meeting his goals, and furthering Stratos as a country. He would also fall in love with Ava, and over the course of a year have a baby girl, Rose, with one on the way.The Battle of Maccion
The Pan Flute 5 alerted Neophytos of the impending army that was coming from the North. Neophytos had enough troops to battle the invading army as they were heading toward the Red Fort, not Maccion. So he took his army to the Red Fort to fight, which included both calvary and foot soldiers. He did leave some men and the Pan Flute 5 behind in Maccion just in case of a sneak attack. The hunch was correct as a group broke from the main force and drove down toward Maccion. While the Pan Flute 5 fought off this group, they were able to send word to Neophytos. He personally came with a squad of calvary to help finish securing the town and cleaning up the remains of the army.Ithaca Consideration
After further developing Maccion into a bustling trade hub for Stratos, Neophytos was asked to come to Ithaca. When called, this typically means another promotion or other accolades. Generally this process is a quick one, but he has been on that assignment for a long time. While gone, the Pan Flute 5 was in the Underdark on the behest of Baba. During this time, Neophytos and Ava's son Nissim was born.Relationships
