Session 1 - The Beginning

The story begins on Jundalph the 4th. This session spans to the 7th.
The adventure started in a stormy spring night with biting rain and hail. With the day’s chores completed, most of the citizens of Maccion found shelter in the Imperfect Pan Flute Inn. This also includes the three friends Aeric, Gavin, and Crefalo.
Upon entering this magnificent Inn (when compared to the rest of the small hamlet), the atmosphere was a-wash in freshly cooked spiced potatoes, ale and up beat music. The townspeople were currently focused on the upcoming spring festival and or playing other games of chance.
The owner, Goda, and his children (Patroklos, Polycarpios, and Alexia) were working around the inn on their various tasks. Patroklos was working the bar with his father Goda. Alexia was running tables given the large amount of people at the inn that night. Polycarpios seemed to be taking it easy with an arm in the sling.
After the three friends walked into the inn, they noticed two individuals that stood out as newcomers to Maccion. One, Elidi, clearly a woman devoted to front-line military action was quickly brought into the group through conversation. Through the night, they talked and drank. Speaking of plans to get out of Maccion, they also noticed that the pan flute above the bar was more imperfect than usual. Also, Elidi couldn’t determine Aeric’s true race due to his elaborate disguise.
The other, one more likely akin to the shadows or the sea, sat at the bar and kept to himself. Occasionally harassed by Alexia, he eventually decided to take…action. After realizing that Aeric was elven, the man known as Kyros tripped Alexis sending her face first into the platter of spiced potatoes.
Furious, Alexia blamed the elves that current work at the Inn with her family. Despite this, the elves helped her up and tried to get her cleaned. Elodie, upset with what she had just seen decided to get in Kyros’ face and demand answers for his action. Aeric, Gavin an Crefalo all rather staying out of the limelight.
Before these two came to blows, Demoarchos Neophytos Apollo Kephueus came into the inn with two of his body guards. Immediately recognizing Gavin, he demanded what was going on. After a brief discussion, Neophytos placed the blame squarely on this group, and determined that the best thing was to get this group out of Maccion, with the side effect of helping Maccion. He offered 50gp each for the group to investigate north for missing scouts.
The group decided to leave next morning and began to travel northward. After crossing the river, they start into a forest. Gavin, despite his hangover hears activity in the woods and moves closer to inspect while the rest of the group hangs back. Gavin, due to his hangover, stumbles and brings some attention to himself from a group of wolves eating their kill, a black bear. Gavin recovers and tries to signal to the party what is going on, but the group doesn’t fully understand and Elodie runs in. The wolves were dealt with fairly handedly with Crefalo exploding one.
The group decides to rest for the night and set a watch. On the first watch, with Crefalo and Aeric, zombies came shuffling toward the group. Once the entire team is awake, the zombies, dressed in Stratos scout uniforms (one dressed in a commanding officer uniform), begin to fall. Some to Aeric’s flame magic, and others to well-placed shots to the head from Kyros and Gavin. During this battle, Elidi stood in the front absorbing most of the damage. She had the last laugh as she cleaved one zombie into two clean pieces.
After this, the group decided to rest for the night, which passed uneventfully.
