Stratos
Formally established in 611 EB with the settlement of Ithaca, Stratos immediately took on a different culture than its counterpart Ankon. With Ankon trying to maintain diplomatic relations with The Center, Stratens believed that there was strength through military might. After the settlement, they formed a militaristic governmental style with the Strategos in command.
Their culture is that of military honor and might. Far from being brutish, they value tactics and wisdom. All boys and men must train and serve a mandatory 5 years in the military, whether that is nautical or on land.
There is a heavy blending of cultures between the dwarves (code of honor, love of fighting) and gnomes (innovations).

Assets
The main backbone of the military, Stratos boasts the most diverse selection of military assets. These includes calvary (light), foot soliders (heavy and light), navy (transport, raiders, and seige), seige engines (field and castle). Most notably is the elite group called the Harmost. A group of 1000 troups, this group is known to have survived such rigors of training, each man could stand against 10 normal men and survive.
History
After moving northwestward, away from Ankon, they decided to establish Ithaca. After establishing Ithaca this group set upon establishing their governmental system based on the command structure of the military.

In Stratos, having demonstrated great ability on the battlefield usually translates to promotions and other advancements. Specific to Demoarchos, the lowest official governmental position (similar to a mayor) appointments are through of process of nomination within Ithaca, and then assignment to smaller cities. This would be that person's chance to demonstrate that they can handle bigger assignments, and are moved up the chain.
