manuscripts manuscript css
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Manuscripts is an amazing tool.
Many of us are spoiled by being able to edit the CSS of our worlds.
We know, however, that if we apply CSS to anything outside of .user-css we risk our ability to use CSS. THAT is terrifying!
Writers would love to be able to edit the CSS of their books, too. We have the basic user controls, which are great, but if we could customize our manuscripts a bit, control the formatting, then that would be even more shiny!— The original article
Currently, there is no way to apply a stylesheet to a Manuscript. This could be viewed as an issue for those who wish to have more control over the formatting of their project.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
This feature request would allow people to apply a stylesheet to their Manuscript projects, which can help with branding and potentially accessibility.
Example:
.user-css-novel p {
font-family: opendyslexic;
margin-top: 0;
margin-bottom: 0;
text-indent: 2em;
}
Please refer to this article for further discussion and examples.
What are other uses for this feature request?
This feature request could improve the accessibility of manuscripts by allowing Dyslexic-friendly fonts to be used as the creator sees fit.
The Team's Response
This is a accepted but it will not be implemented the way suggested. Manuscripts under the Manuscripts Public interface will not get access to CSS.
In the future Manuscripts will have their own unique and detached pages within their worlds, and on that point they will be able to have CSS.
