Maps are a pretty important feature on WorldAnvil, but currently the only way to show an author support for their map is if the map is linked in an article, which is not always done -- and even then, the map is quite often not the main focus.
Ideally, there could be a comment window that pops out of the side of the map window, similar to how the article preview window pops up when clicking on a pin with an article linked to it. In this window, we could leave a like or comment on the author's wonderful map.
Currently we can link a map into an article, but that's an added step and also takes away from the map itself, imo. Especially for cases like world maps, which are often complex and deserving of great attention, but linked within world intro articles where there's many more things vying for attention.

Having the comments on the map itself makes more sense than commenting on a surrounding article, especially for maps which are embedded in several articles. I can easily imagine a comment section in the map side bar. I also second melior64's suggestion to let us bookmark maps.
