secrets reveal
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
The ability to easily reveal an item created as a Secret.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
As it stands now to reveal a secret you assign one or more subscriber(s)/subscriber groups which is great for granular reveals. Only one out of the 6 users knows the secret so I can gradually reveal to each as needed.
I am proposing a check box within the Secret edit screen that simply says Reveal. The informational text can say something like Revealing overrides subscriber groups and makes this secret public or visible within the article. This works great in a situation where a reveal is all or nothing. A GM reveals something to 6 our of 6 users/players all at once which is fairly common within TTRPG.
With this feature nothing is changed or lost, yet it provides greater flexibility to Secrets. I use the granular method often for my world and would also use the Reveal as well.
What are other uses for this feature request?
Often in the help channel users are looking to reveal their items in one-shot. They become excited with secrets and some go on to use them, while others shy away from subscriber groups and the extra level of detail. While the visibility toggle is ok most times, there are some quirks with it that shy some away from it. In addition many users have invested in secrets from the beginning.
Follow up
Tiller's idea is excellent having the little eye ball icon on the secret. Touching this would by the world owner would override privacy and subscriber groups making to secret content public in an article.
The Team's Response
This suggestion has been accepted for future development! - We will be investigating the potentiality of making:
secrets public and private,
the ability to reveal (make public) via the presentation interface (or its own interface),
the ability to define "Who knows it" (new text field) - readable by everyone who has access to it,
the ability to filter systems one way or another by reveals and hidden ,
GM Notes a part of the functionality.
