Features Anvil-Coins user-experience

A way to introduce Anvilites to features they may not be familiar with

I see that a lot of the Anvil Coins suggestions are features that we already have and can use. This suggests to me that people aren't getting the information about WA's full capabilities.   The Codex was created to address that, but it's maintained by volunteers, who a) have to have the time to write the article (and the ones doing so tend to be some of WA's most engaged users) b) need to know there's a demand for the feature in question (because there's always a backlog) and c) we quite frankly can't keep up with Dimi ;)   Not to mention that people only go searching for a feature in the Codex when they are actively trying to figure out how to do it and know what it is called. Sometimes, people don't know what they don't know.   My suggestion is something that appears in the dashboard or the explorer, like the randomized prompts. "Today's Featured Feature: Variables" for example. And if that is something that an Anvilite is interested in, they can click on it and get the information in a quick tutorial.   The link would take people to either one of Janet's amazing tutorial videos, the blog entry where the feature was introduced, or the Codex page that talks about it (so no rewriting of things that have already been created is needed.)   Possibly links could also be created to some of the helpful "worlds" and blogs that some of the more active users are already creating (like ShyRedFox).   What this would require would be someone(s) to collate all the information available.   Alternatively, perhaps a regular blog devoted exclusively to introducing already-existing features of WA could address this. I don't want to make anyone's life more difficult, so I'm looking for the most efficient way to get the information into Anvilite hands.

I think its a good idea, but if there was a prmpt type thing it would 100% have to be tailored per what each account can do. so freemen aren't getting master info and getting confused or never getting what they can do kicked to them.

This would be awesome! It would really help those who have a hard time learning new things, or just don't know something exists. Returning users might find it useful too, or those who have just arrived.

Yes - this should totally be a thing - I would honestly laugh if it looked like a loading screen tip

I really love this idea, I've been working with WA for a while and only now am I starting to look beyond just articles and categories. Personally, I would love something like this.

There are so many features in WA - a reminder about what's available would be nice. I know we get the development updates - but they get buried in the blog after a while.

Brilliant suggestion. Video games have done this for years with loading screen tips. Bringing it here is a great idea.
