Forests of Nevae

The Forests of Nevae have a morbid beauty about them that some can appreciate. But travelers passing through are more likely to pull their cloaks around them in fear than take in the flora and fauna. Low mists hang in the moors and forests of Veruun, making it dangerous ground to navigate without experience. To make this worse, settlements both big and small have vast untamed distances between them and many villages haven’t heard from their neighbors in decades. Some settlements, particularly those that tried to break away from an existing fiefdom to enjoy long-overdue independence, have fallen completely. These once-free cities have been been reclaimed by the land itself.

Localized Phenomena

The ever present mists of Veruun are known to twist their occupants into barely recognizable creatures of the night. In some cases, the mists hide entrances to entire pocket dimensions. Mistholds, as they are often called, are gloomy, nightmarish places where Darklords hold sway. Visitors to Veruun should take care to avoid these places lest they find themselves dragged down into the mists forever. The best known of these is Rhyztir, where Edmund Ryztir is both lord and captive of a powerful curse
