Angel Adela Lynch IV
Archduchess of Caripice
Angel was born into the Lynch family as the third of her siblings. She was, however, the first daughter, and thus (according to her family tradition) she was the heir to the family title of "Archduchess of Caripice", as her mother before her. As such, she was raised with an added level of effort not given to her siblings. She studied economics, history, and government. She was drilled on swordplay and magics. By the time she was sixteen, she could have taken over the family and led it with as much fervor as her mother. When she was twenty, she did just that.
Her mother died of Night Fever, leaving Angel to be the head of the household. As the king allowed a fair amount of sovereignty within the provinces, she immediately appointed her brothers and sisters as Barons and Viscountesses, splitting their lands into smaller pieces and giving each of her siblings a swath to govern. The Lynch family was well loved in those years, owing much of their success to the no-nonsense but ever insightful rule of their Archduchess.
When she was twenty-five, Angel was invited to court. King Iradin I had long admired the Lynch family and their control of their province. As such, she was not only at court, but an adviser to the king. It was here that, for the first time, she met Enoch IV. She was taken by his reserved demeanor and calculated speech. She had heard all manner of stories about him, but meeting the real thing was simply beyond her expectation. She did, however, have to wade through a lot of posturing and false fronts in order to get the real man. However, once she saw the man beneath, she allowed him to court her, and, a year later, the two were married.
After their wedding, the couple asked the king what he intended to do about their lands and titles. The king laughed, asking what they meant. "I could never take away from two of my most faithful vassals!" he exclaimed. The king elected to have them keep their titles, holding them jointly. He did, however, give a single condition: Angel's sister would become the Princess of Caripice and marry the king's younger brother, allowing the two to rule Caripice as proxy. Angel accepted these terms and moved to Arkham with Enoch.
Though many of her fellow noblewomen tend to fade into the shadows of their husbands, Angel has remained a firebrand and a vocal member of Arkham's Court. There have been many times when she has called a meeting herself and carried on without Enoch even being present. As a result, she has become somewhat of an icon amongst the women of Kalastrad's nobility. Together with her friend and technical aunt, Sophia Endecott II, she's blazing a trail for the future.
