Venerable House Renfield

The Venerable House Renfield is one of the oldest Dynastic clans in Kalastrad. They used to be the ruling family in Arkham back when it was an independent nation, but it has been quite a few generations since the subjugation and vassalization by the House Kalas. Over the years, they remained a powerful house, but lost it all when they were stripped of Arkham entirely. Shortly thereafter, the King passed the Law of Cessation, making it so that titles were no longer inherited, but had to be gifted by the monarch. These two facts were heavy blows to the House and their influence as their intricate network of contacts and favors was constantly upset by the shuffling of title. However, as if by fate, it is a Renfield that once again sits on the throne of Arkham.

Culture

The Renfield house is much smaller than it used to be. They were once one of the larger houses (eighty-two living members at their peak) but have since declined. There are now only seventeen living members of the Renfield House - only three are in the main family - with one honorary member in the form of Cage Renfield. It's for that reason that the Renfields are rather insular. Though the House is rather disjointed at present, they only really trust one another.
