Central Exchange

The center of trade and business in Brineven, Central Exchange revolves around the fortress-like Brineven Exchange, the bank of Brineven and the Grand Marketplace across from Crown’s Exchange. To the north of the Exchange, the dwarven neighborhood of Dwurton revolves around the Angbadur Embassy and the Hammer and Stone Inn, a popular inn catering to dwarves, said to have a shrine to the Moradinsen below ground.   Further east, the neighborhood of Saint Aldiss springs up around the grand cathedral of Saint Aldiss. The noble House Wallens has its estate tucked behind the cathedral. South of Saint Aldiss is the Crossing. Most buildings in the Crossing are at least three stories tall with a business on the street level and living quarters and apartments on the upper floors. Here the Tarn's have bult their embassy to the city, right in the middle of the merchant district. The Crossing seems to always be bustling. The Brass Dragon Inn is one of the larger inns in the city, not counting the Silver Elm. Its front doors look out to the High Marketplace. It boasts four large floors, with the uppermost floor being a large open common rooms where bunks rent out cheaply. Rooms and suites on the second and third floor are not, by any mean, cheap. Many merchants from the marketplace rent themselves rooms or suites, and rent their entourages bunks in the common room.   South Crossing is the southernmost part of the Exchange. Here one can find warehouses and offices for the many trading companies or costers operating out of Central Exchange. The Cartographer's Guild has its hall in South Crossing. The Knights in Green Inn is also located in South Crossing. The Knights caters to warriors, guardsmen, paladins, and the like, and there's always a story going around about one or another man in full metal armor. Less burly types tend to become the butt of jokes and are definitely made to feel less than welcome unless accompanied by a warrior friend.
