Prince Robb Stark
Prince Robb Stark / Aranarth Telcontar
Eldest son of King Eddard and Queen Catelyn. Robb was conceived during the wedding night of Eddard and Catelyn in the castle of Riverrun. While Eddard rode north, to fight against the orc armies lead by the pale orc Azog, Catelyn remained at her home castle in Vizima. Near the end of the war, she gave birth at Riverrun. After the war ended, Queen Catelyn travelled north to Kaer Invaerne, the royal palace of Arnor.
Queen Catelyn took the liberty of naming the child Robb after King Robert Baratheon of Kaedwen, who Eddard described to Catelyn as Eddard's best friend at their wedding feast in Riverrun, Queen Catelyn did not give Robb his elven name as she felt she was not fit to choose one since she was not of the Arnorian culture. When Robb returned from the north with the remains of his sibilings Brandon and Lyanna and his son by another woman, Jon, he took Robb into his arms and joyously embraced that he was a father of two healthy strong boys and gave Robb his elven name, calling him Aranarth, meaning "noble king".
Robb was raised at Kaer Invaerne as his father's heir, and is the closest of companions with his half-brother Jon Snow and their father's ward, Theon Tuirseach, destined lord of the Skellige isles. Robb, Theon and Jon trained together at arms ever since they were big enough to walk, and played at being mighty rangers and heroes.
Over the years, Robb recieved several more sibilings, two sisters named Sansa and Arya and two little brothers named Bran and Rickon.
The three boys trained together at arms under the tutelage of Ser Rodrik Cassel, the master at arms of Kaer Invaerne. The Stark children, Jon, and Theon were also educated by Maester Luwin, the court druid, known preferedly by his druid name Mousesack.
At the age of eight, Jon and Robb went to the Woodland Realm of King Thranduil and were taken deep into the wolfswood by the King's son Legolas. In the wolfswood, the two brothers found their direwolf companions, Robb named his Greywind for his grey coat while Jon named his ghost.
Robb was very sad when his brother Jon went north to Kaer Morhen to begin his training as a Ranger with their uncle Benjen and whenever Jon was due to return, Robb would stand at the castle walls and watch from the battlements for his brother's return.
Robb was very fond of Gandalf and loved his fireworks, perfering his company and trusting his council more than that of Saruman the white's, who was the head of the order of the wizards and the chief advisor to the King of Arnor.
Relationships
History
Jon and Robb have been close all their lives and were nigh inseprable from childhood. It is well known that twins usally share an intense bond with one another and while Jon and Robb have different mothers, they were born only months apart and shared everything together as children.
There were times when Theon was jelous of how close Jon was with Robb. As a child, Jon always strived to be more like Robb as he always saw Robb as being better at fighting, riding, hunting, earning their father's praise and getting girls to like him than Jon was. Jon wondered why he never felt jelous or resentful towards Robb for being so much better than him, but Jon soon realised that he couldn't hate Robb because he loved him so much, everytime Robb succeeded, Jon couldn't feel jelously because he was too busy feeling proud.
There is nothing that Jon and Robb don't trust each other with and in all their years, Robb has never called Jon his bastard brother or even half-brother unless prompted to make the distinction.
History
Robb is Sansa's big brother and thus has always been the one to protect her from others and the one to pick on her himself. In their formative years, Robb would roll his eyes at what a spoilt and regal brat of a princess Sansa was, dreaming of living in the beautiful cities of the southern kingdoms among the Andal Kings, knights and princes whom she wished to marry. To try and humble his sister, Robb would enlist the help of their Half-Brother Jon and foster-brother Theon to pelt the young auburn haired princess with snowballs.
Robb was very dissaproving when his sister began her religious training with Septa Mordane and started worshiping the seven andal gods of the south, beliving it was not their way, but Sansa declared it was her way. However after Sansa returned from a trip to Tameria where she saw how cruel and bigoted Andals were against the people of Arnor, she began to mature and humble herself, forsaking her arrogant and pretencious characteristics and truly embracing the northern lifestyle.
When Sansa began to develop feelings for Theon and he developed the same feelings for her, it was Robb who first noticed and greatly admired the idea of the two falling in love, seeing it as a way for Theon to finally be a part of the family. Robb would constantly tease Sansa in private about her feelings for Theon and encourage her to show him how she felt.
History
When Theon's father was killed and King Eddard took the boy from the isles of Skellige to be raised in the King's own household alongside his own children, he was but a year old and all his life he had been nothing short of a brother to Eddard's son and heir Robb.
Growing up, the cocky, brash and somewhat arrogant Theon was a corrupting influence on Robb, always encouraging his foster brother to be rebellious, troublesome and spontanious. Theon's behaviour was adjacent to that of Jon Snow's who always tried to temper Robb and keep him out of trouble or from doing something stupid, leading to Jon and Theon developing a friendly rivalry, fighting over Robb as their best friend and brother, but Robb loved them both eqaully.
When Theon was seventeen and Robb was sixteen, they rode out from the keep to their first battle alongside King Eddard and a host of men to fight an orc pack that had been seen nearby. The two were excited and determined, having dreamed of riding into battle and slaying orcs since they were boys, but the battle was not as simple or as poetic as the stories made them out to be.
The wild orcs were merciless and vicious beasts, violently slashing at the Stark soliders in horrific and brutal ways. In the confusion of battle, Robb and Theon were knocked off their horses and a large orc came lunging at Robb only for Theon to get in the way and take the blows, getting struck in the face twice with a poisoned blade's edge.
Luckily thanks to the help of Robb's sister Sansa, Theon's wounds were healed, but he was left with deep scars upon his face. When Theon recovered Robb heartfully told Theon that he was his brother, now and always and that would never change. In the years since, the two have travelled, fought, trained and hunted together, nigh inseperable and the closest and truest of friends.
