Theon Tuirseach

Theon Tuirseach / Faramir Mithgel

Theon Tuirseach, known in the elven tounge as Faramir Mithgel, is the son of Lord Balon Tuirseach. Theon's father was a tough and distant man, known by most to be stubborn, fearless, and quarrelsome, but Theon would not know for his father died when he was as year old fighting for the armies of Arnor during Azog's Uprising and his mother died in child birth.

Even though King Eddard thought Balon Tuirseach as a harsh and stubborn man, he owed a life dept to Balon as he had died saving Eddard in battle and so, Eddard sent for the young boy Theon to be raised in Kaer Invearne alongside his sons Robb and Jon. The three were inseperable and like true brothers to one another. They played together, trained together and studied together, and later they recived more sibilings when Queen Catelyn sired for more children to the king, Sansa, Arya, Bran and Rickon.

On the outside, Theon was known for his confidence, cavalier and witty behaviour, but also quite cocky, arrogant and mischievous, often being the corrupting influence on Robb to do something juvinille and troublesome in their youth while Jon tried to counter. But behind his arrogant exterior hides insecurities relating to his uncertain familial and social identity. Theon never forgot that he was an outsider since he was not of their blood. Theon always felt looked after, protected and loved whenever King Eddard was with him, who would look down and smile at Theon the way he did any of his children, but could never use the word son as whenever his foster sibilings called him or Jon their brothers without a second thought Queen Catelyn would try to insist upon them that neither Jon nor Theon were actually their family, but Theon's sibilings did not care, which always made him feel like he belonged.

The first peson outside of his siblings to ever actually refer to Theon as a Stark was Gandalf the Grey who said it in passing with a kind smile and no intention of correcting himself, which made Theon develop the greatest respect for the grey wizard.

Growing up, Theon became a skilled archer, squiring for King Eddard in his youth and becoming Robb's lieutenant and right hand whenever he rode out to hunt Orc parites or bandits that had been spotted in Arnor. As Theon is not of the Stark blood, he never found a direwolf pup in the wolfswood as a child, but all the direwolves of the starks treat Theon the same way they treat any other Stark.

When Theon was sixteen, he went to his home of Skellige to claim his place as Lord of the isles, but in all the time Theon had been raised at Kaer Invaerne and the isles had been ruled by his uncle Euron, his uncle had been gathering supporters to supplant Theon in a moot to determine the next lord of the isles and Theon was outvoted and left the island in shame. Eddard as King could override the decision as the clans of Skellige were more loyal to him than they ever would be to Euron, but Theon asked him not to, saying a lord who could not win his people was no lord at all and Theon declared that one day he'd go back to the isles and win his people's loyalty fairly as a stark would do and then he'd claim his lordship, Eddard expressed great pride in Theon for his honor and told him heartfully he'd always have a place in Kaer Invaerne with the Starks... with his family.

When he was seventeen, he went on a a ride to his first battle with Robb, Jon, King Eddard and a host of men from the fortress to fight an orc pack that had been seen nearby, they fought and Theon was havily scarred protecting Robb. Druid Luwin did what he could but warned he might not last the night. Robb, Jon, Eddard and all the stark children prayed to each and every one of the Valar to save him. Late at night, Princess Sansa Stark, who had never thought of Theon as a brother, came into his room and attempted to used the healing magic that Galadriel had been trying to teach her, but she could never quite master. By morning, Theon was alive and only left with scars on his face, with an exausted Sansa asleep with her head rested on the edge of his bed and Theon has been greatful to Sansa ever since.

History

When Theon's father was killed and King Eddard took the boy from the isles of Skellige to be raised in the King's own household alongside his own children, he was but a year old and all his life he had been nothing short of a brother to Eddard's son and heir Robb.

Growing up, the cocky, brash and somewhat arrogant Theon was a corrupting influence on Robb, always encouraging his foster brother to be rebellious, troublesome and spontanious. Theon's behaviour was adjacent to that of Jon Snow's who always tried to temper Robb and keep him out of trouble or from doing something stupid, leading to Jon and Theon developing a friendly rivalry, fighting over Robb as their best friend and brother, but Robb loved them both eqaully.

When Theon was seventeen and Robb was sixteen, they rode out from the keep to their first battle alongside King Eddard and a host of men to fight an orc pack that had been seen nearby. The two were excited and determined, having dreamed of riding into battle and slaying orcs since they were boys, but the battle was not as simple or as poetic as the stories made them out to be.

The wild orcs were merciless and vicious beasts, violently slashing at the Stark soliders in horrific and brutal ways. In the confusion of battle, Robb and Theon were knocked off their horses and a large orc came lunging at Robb only for Theon to get in the way and take the blows, getting struck in the face twice with a poisoned blade's edge.

Luckily thanks to the help of Robb's sister Sansa, Theon's wounds were healed, but he was left with deep scars upon his face. When Theon recovered Robb heartfully told Theon that he was his brother, now and always and that would never change. In the years since, the two have travelled, fought, trained and hunted together, nigh inseperable and the closest and truest of friends.

History

Since Theon was a small boy growing up in Kaer Invaerne, he had a complicated relationship with Sansa. When they were younger, Theon, Robb and Jon would pelt her with snowballs as she loved to act like she was better than them and hated when people said Theon and Jon were her brothers, as she insisted Jon was her half brother and Theon wasn't family.

However after Sansa went south to Tameria when she was ten and saw the bigotry the Andals had against the people of Arnor, she no longer acted like a spoilt brat who wanted to escape to the south and was kinder to Jon and Theon, but still never felt comfortable calling Theon her brother, which annoyed Theon more than he thought it should, feeling a need for Sansa to accept him.

Years later when Theon was injured protecting Robb during their first battle, fighting against a small orc warband alongside King Eddard, he was severely injured with orcish black poison being introduced into his wounds, beyond the druid Mousesack's ability's to heal.

All of Sansa's siblings cried for Theon and prayed to the Valar to save him. Sansa had been studying to use magic under the elf maiden Galadriel for some time by then and had learned some encantations to heal someone from dying of injuries and to stop poison, but had never been able to master it.

That night, Sansa went into Theon's room with some Athalas she picked from the palace gardens, rubbed it into his wounds and spoke the encantations she had been taught all night to try and heal Theon and by the morning, Theon was healed, left only with scars.

It was after that night that Theon finally realised why it was so important to him that Sansa accepted him and why Sansa refused to think of Theon as a brother, it was love.

Sansa denied these feelings to herself and to Theon for a long time, while he never persuemed that Sansa could love him back for she was high above his station.

It wasn't until Galadriel taught Sansa ósanwe, the ability to communicate through thought that Sansa peered into Theon's mind and saw the same love she felt for him and accepted her feelings towards him.
