The House of Stark

Since the foundation of the house of Stark in the year 4000 of the third age, the Starks have ruled as the Kings of the northern realm of Arnor. The first Stark was a man named Brandon who's father was a Numenorean and his mother of the First Men. During the great war of the Long Night against the White Walkers and their armies of wights, orcs, trolls and goblins, the heroic warrior Brandon fought against the White Walkers and their followers and helped lead their people to victory.

For his bravery, leadership and greatness, all the peoples of the lands north of the neck bowed to Brandon and pledged fealty to him. The three Numenorean kingdoms of Arthedain, Cardolan and Rhudaur, the tribes of the first men and the Giants, the Elven realms of Imladris, Mithlond, Lothlorien and the Woodland Realm, the shire of the hobbits, the Isles of Skellige and the dwarf lords of Erebor, Ered Luin, Nogrod, the Iron hills and Aglarond, all pledged undying loyalty to Brandon and his children.

Brandon was a mighty builder, becoming known by many as Bran the Builder, who used the aid of the giants and dwarves who pledged fealty to him to constructed the fortresses in the northern mountains where the Order of Rangers could live and train as well as a mighty mountain side fortress palace of Kaer Invaerne, translated from the first men's tounge to the common tongue as Winterfell Keep, where he and all his decendants would live.

At the finish of Kaer Invaerne, Brandon was corrinated, welcoming people of all races to his keep to witness his coronation and share in his fortune. Upon his crowning, Brandon was given a Royal elven name as per Numenorean tradition to be used beside his First Men name, hence forth his house would be known by the first men and in the common tongue as the House of Stark and in the elven tounge of Sindarin, Brandon would be known as Aranarth of the house of Telcontar, King of Arnor.

For his familial crest, Brandon took the mark of the Direwolf shaped in silver, a proud and noble creature found in the lands of Arnor. Brandon had even found a grey pelted direwolf pup in his youth and adopted it naming whom he raised as a faithful companion that stood by his side for many years as a beloved friend and thus the House of Stark would forevere be marked with the symbol of the direwolf. Eventually a family tradition would rise from the Starks where their children would travel into the wolfswood and find a Direwolf pup who they would raise and that direwolf would become a life long companion and ally to the Stark and would always come to them in their most desperate hour.

When Brandon Stark became king of Arnor, he was wed to Princess Reniriel of Gondor, one of the Númenoreans who carried the blood of the Kings of Númenor which gave her and her family a longer lifespan than most other Númenoreans living between 400 and 500 years. In most instances, the blood of the Kings of Númenor was rarely passed on through the maternal line, but it seemed Princess Reniriel was one of the few exceptions and through her, all the decendants she and Brandon sired carried the blood of the Kings of Númenor and lived longer than most other Númenóreans.
