Rozsa

Rozsa is a small (approx. 1,050 km diameter), Class III plane in the Nitoxite Eighth region of the interplanar hub known as the Eridún Crux. Despite their solitary nature and aloofness toward interplanar politics, Rozsa would become highly advanced prior to colonization by the Daybreak Empire, after which they were left crippled due to an utter refusal to submit to foreign rule.

Rozsa is a 3rd Tier plane (three degrees of separation from the Crux). It has a Full planar integration score, meaning almost all Rozsans are aware of other settled planes, Voidwalking, et cetera.

One exception to Rozsa's reclusiveness was the extraplanar New Rozsan Empire, lead unofficially by the sibling Lichlords and archmages Nir and Nef, which colonized the large and verdant plane of Waking Materia some 3,500 years ago. Their arrival marked the start of Materia's Middle First Age.

History

Rozsa's exploits are long and storied; this section is but a stub.

Pre-History

Little remains recorded of Rozsa's early history. Racial and cultural analyses by Daybreak anthropologists suggest Rozsans are closely related to (albeit estranged from) the Lorganites due to the ancient and largely forgotten expansion of the Meta-Virsalis Empire from Lorgain some 8,000 years prior.

Early History

One noteworthy, historical nation-district was the small and often oppressed Elmdor, a political pariah who had a reputation for dabbling in Demonology, Blood Magic, Avant Garde music and Theoretical Physics. From this oppression sprang an interplanar diaspora lead by the twin archmages Nir and Nef, which would eventually become the New Rozsan Empire, on the plane of Waking Materia in the Sulatian Eighth, some 3,500 years ago. The empire was later destroyed by a catastrophic, plane-wide flooding event known as the Deluge.

Geopolitics

By the time Rozsa was discovered and colonized by the Daybreak Empire, it was a near-ecumenopolis, with over 90% of the plane covered by some form of civilized infrastructure. Between the vicinity and technological advancement, the plane's various "nation districts" maintained only moderate cultural distinctiveness. Rozsa is now a limping shell of its former self after a long and brutal resistance to colonization by Daybreak forces.
