Daybreak Planar Classification
Whether named or unnamed, planes in the Known Universe have a unique classification ID or code in the Daybreak Empire. The format is two letters followed by two numbers followed by two hexidecimal digits.
The first letter represents which of the Eight Regions the plane is found in:
- A — Adaephite Eighth
- C — Cymedian Eighth
- D — Dornnish Eighth
- K — Kolarian Eighth
- N — Nitoxite Eighth
- P — Pitravite Eighth
- R — Arborian Eighth
- S — Silurian Eighth
The second letter is one of fifteen identifiers for a plane's overall physical/ecological nature. For example 'W' for a Waterworld-type plane, 'E' for ecumenopoli or 'R' for barren rockscapes. This category can be considered roughly similar to biomes in Earth reckoning.
The two numbers represent the plane's size, measured in diameter, as a percentage of the largest cruxplane, Adaephon: for example if a plane is 22% the size of Adaephon, its two digits will be '22'. Planes larger than Adaephon (only two are known in the entire GECR) are generally designated '00'.
The last two digits are simply a unique pair of hexidecimal digits to guarantee a unique code for any number of recorded planes.
