Tregaron City

Tregaron City is the largest human settlement in the world. It's a metropolis that goes by many names, and is located in the central north of Vilstrung. Situated on a coast found nestled cozily into a massive mountainside, Tregaron City has had a long time to grow over the course of its founding; as time changed, so too did its culture.   Now, many people within Tregaron City boast of living in a truly democratic home. It's a city that's ran exclusively by guilds that represent the districts across it.

Naming

Tregaron City goes by many names.   The Villish call it Familikingeld; or City of Guilds; named so due to the many different guilds that run it.   The Torman people call it the City of Kings due to the many different guild barons that control the provinces across the city.   Vanks often refer to it as Diavl du Ville; Devil's City, due to the perceived sin that's committed within a truly free landscape. To the Vanks, Tregaron City is a den that propagates sin due to the directionless freedom allowing organised crime and banditry to rise within the city's walls.

Demographics

Tregaron City is a rich melting pot of various cultures, occupations, and ethnic groups. Compared to the rest of human civilization found across the world, nothing is quite as diverse as Tregaron City. This massive collage of different lifestyles in such a large city has eventually lead towards multiple districts forming beneath the protection of the many Guilds that live here.

Racial Demographics

Found and made by humans, Tregaron's racially diverse when it comes to the many different ethnic groups that converged within the city. While it was founded by the Villish people, Tregaron was initially erected with the soul purpose of providing a haven from the feudal societies that littered the vast continent.   Due to its vast size, Tregaron's notoriety has been spread far and wide as the largest human city -- if not the largest city in the entire world. This naturally attracts outsiders from all corners of the planet, either eagerly seeking opportunity to find a haven within its walls and vast population. Elves have long since hidden within its walls due to Tregaron City serving as a neutral ground during the The Crusades. Talpa eagerly arrive for the sake of finding opportunities to either invent, innovate, or in some cases, join the ever-growing mines nestled at the mountains that snuggly wrap around the city's borders.   Though typically reserved to the wilds, many Fianni can't help but marvel at the pinnacle of human industry.   Despite being predominately ruled by the Blood Hunt, Tregaron City is also home to many Wretches that have taken refuge within its walls. These unfortunate souls are left dwelling in the seedy underbelly of the city, though rumours still circulate about the City carrying a curse that twists unfortunate souls into a corrupted likeness of its former glory.

Government

Tregaron City's law and governance is ruled by two bodies; the guilds, and the judges that regulate their disputes. It's known as a city whose government is ran by no government. Instead, the city is divided into different provinces and districts that are kept under control by companies and guilds that provide a benefit to the city as a whole. Each guild holds complete control over the law and function of events happening within their province or district.   This bizarre method of governance has lead to the place being a melting pot due to the many different races found within, but the countless cultures that have formed from each respective guild ruling over the city.

The Huntsman's Court

At the head of the judicial branch is the Huntsman's Court; a guild that acts separately from the entrepaneurial spirits that control their districts. While the guilds are free to run their respective district how they please, the Huntsman's Court acts as a mediator between separate parties. These mediators draft and oversee contracts and deals between two parties to ensure that both can come to a mutual agreement.   To ensure that the contracts are followed, the Huntsmen sent to mediate the contracts also act as the executioner; punishments of these violated terms are carried out by them, often depending on the offended party's terms.
