The History of Veron so far
The Elder Spirits have gone and left behind an entire civilization's worth of thechnology, but it's so advanced that, generally speaking, it's incomprehensible to your avererage Veronian Resident.
The Dark Tribe were less advanced, and far more localized, leaving only a handful of ruins around Serropa.
Other than that, countless Old Norvan Tribes and their ruins litter the landscape of Norvus. Not particularly advanced, but perhaps valuable to historians and similar scholars.
Current Species & Cultures
These days, Veron is mostly ruled by the Conflux, which was formed as an effort to force the old tribes to accept peace rather than the war they were so accustomed to. They occupy Norvus to the east and a good chunk of Serropa to the west.
The The A'ornian Republic is the Avidian's nation, located in the continent of A'orn to the north. They are a primarily agricultural society.
the Mantis Enclave represents most of the mantis population in Serropa, ruled by the tyrant queen Meridia. Mantis in general aren't extremely advanced, but are very capable warriors.
Needs & Relations
the Conflux is perpetually in desperate need of food; Norvus has been wiped clean of any useful vegetation by Blight and their expansion has been mostly limited to their own continent, with a few exceptions. This makes their otherwise immutable empire extremely dependent on Avid trade routes.
To the Mantis, the sky is sacred. conversely, touching the ground is considered unclean by many of the higher-ups in mantis society, which is why they are so fascinated with Gliders and hovercraft, and to a lesser extent, ground-bound vehicles that can move you from one place to another without ever touching a speck of soil. If you have anything that flies, Mantis are most definitely interested.
Avidians are usually content with their lot, but have a history of getting into military trouble with the Mantis. Medical technology and weaponry are both equally large imports of the The A'ornian Republic.
