Scope
The motivation behind building Veron
I really just want to create something that people can have fun with; something odd that gets people out of their usual thinking style, but still relaxingly whimsical.
The goal of the project
I'm hoping to write a series of stories, novels perhaps.
Veron's Unique Selling point
Bunnies in SPAAAACE!
Theme
Genre
Science Fantasy; because I want laser guns AND magic; only we call it
Psionics.
Reader Experience
At the base level, I want to maintain a feeling of optimism; things can get terrible, but the universe will usually conspire to make everything work out in the end.
Reader Tone
I'm trying to go for a StarGate-esque feel I guess. Big problems, small solutions.
Character Agency
Characters won't usually have the fate of the world in their hands; the fate of a few lives is good enough. Remember, investment is a matter of personalness, not scale. Even when the world is at stake, remember to always add an element of personal stakes as well.
Focus
I want to explore a few themes of 'practicality vs contentment'; how doing something for practical reasons can sometimes miss the entire point. Like, what's the point of a paperclip maximizer if it consumes the world's supply of paper to make them?
technological progress vs Spiritual progress. Benefits of each, what a good balance looks like, etc.
Drama
The Dark and Light tribes pretty much destroyed eachother in the
War of Dark and Light. A lot of folks are still sore about it.
Duchess
Kira is planning a separatist movement from
the Conflux; she's working in secret, for now, but soon enough things are gonna get too big to hide from the emperor.
