War of Dark and Light
The Conflict
Prelude
the Light tribe was suffering from an outbreak of Blight in the year 990. It was doubtful whether the tribe would last the winter if the disease continued to spread. However, a few Light tribe members had observed that, while most likely exposed to the blight, the plant life of the Black Forest was healthy and ostensibly blight-free. After attempting to gather some research samples from the forest, members of the Light tribe met a representative of the Dark Tribe and started a dialogue. The Dark Tribe demanded to know what the Light tribe was doing within their lands. The Light tribe replied that they were attempting to find a cure for the blight that plagued their lands and asked if the Dark Tribe would share their secret with them. the Dark Tribe then replied that the power to resist the blight was beyond their comprehension, and that they should find another way to solve their problem that didn't involve intruding upon the Dark Tribe's solitude. The dialogue then ended with the Dark Tribe representative saying, in essence, 'Don't let the grass kick you on the way out'. After that, the Light tribe was both insulted and desperate. Before the year ended, they would send their first raiding party into the Black Forest, kicking off the War of Dark and Light.
