Heart Box
Heart Boxes are rare as they are meant to hold The Arachnid Heart Stone although some scholars believe that some of these boxes were used to hold literal hearts inside of them. The box has Ward enchantments placed on it to protect the Heart Stone or other such items.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The Heart Box is primarily used to hold The Arachnid Heart Stone which is an important item used in the Drider Rite. Before the ritual, the Heart Stone is removed from the box and put in its place until the ritual is over and the Heart Stone is returned to the box.
Heart Boxes that have been found by scholars all have Restoration enchantments of the Wardding spell. These wards keep the Heart Stone from lashing out and turning a random person into a Drider according to myth. The wards also knock back anyone who isn't the Spider Queen or one of her Priests to keep them from opening the box and messing with the Heart Stone.
Some scholars theorize that Priests of Zinja the Lord of Night, Qaydith Lord of Domination, and Lirepro Lady of Pain use heart boxes to store literal hearts. These hearts are offerings to the gods and are stored in their temples to honor them. There isn't much evidence to this though so it is largely dismissed until more evidence is found.
Significance
These types of boxes were used to hold The Arachnid Heart Stone which is the large Focus Crystal that is used during the Drider Rite that was once used to transfigure Elves into Drider. The box that was used to hold the Heart Stone was often kept in the alter of Solsínabh the Spider Queen inside her Temple or in her realm the Court of the Spider Queen.
