The user channels their magic into the weapon and in turn, the weapon fires a blaze of pure magical flame. The weapon has been viewed as a symbol of power for many years. It is the main weapon that mortals think about using when signing up to join the Black Flight's army. As Pfussäwinn Witts grew in power they started to threaten to take control of the army. The Black Flight stopped making the rifle and started to give it to soldiers that they trusted. As a sign of trust to that solider and a futile way of reminding everyone who was really in control.
