Gifts of the Gypsies: Game 16

General Summary

The Party not only survived, but enjoyed their time in the town of Mawatt and decided to not attempt to rescue the kidnapped gnomes which were being sold by the chief of Mawatt to a Fultonian merchant. After leaving Mawatt, the Party stayed one night near old, pre-Fultonian ruins, and a second night in a Fultonian army tower house. The following day, the Party encountered a gyspsy camp site, received some powerful gift cards, and entered into combat with the gypsies when the party refused to turn over Ankili mac Aevyrn's magical scimitar. The game ended in medias res.

Mawatt

The Party's visit in Mawatt started with a private meeting with Chief Harl Wartooth and his closest companions, the Druidess Bridgit, the Celtic warrior and head of the town guard Cadfan and the head of the Henarrian mercenaries, Eslas. The greeting followed all the standard cultural norms for Celts, especially the more civilized members of the Nation of Galletica. Mawatt is within the tribal territory of the Albae, one of the six Celtic tribes of Galletica. Bridgit started with a libation to the gods and small talk before asking about the reason for the Party's arrival. Unusually though, Chief Harl Wartooth half jokingly asked if the Party wishes to sell him the gnome Gemme because he might be able to get a good price for the short, big nosed forest man. The Party learned that Chief Harl Wartooth was a trader in gnomes, all gnomes are slaves, and there is a high price on the head of any gnome. No business was transacted and the Party was invited to an evening feast. Prior to dinner, the Party was shown to their nice living quarters, which is in their own building. Ankli talked with Bridgit, and learned she had been with the Chief for years. Chief Harl Wartooth is known as a firm and warlike leader who has l lead his people through many difficulties, but has improved Mawatt's standing by soldifing alliances with the nation of Fultar during the Ascension of Chief Marshal Trant, trading and peaceful relationships with the Fultonian town of Immersea, and joined the winning side supporting the now current High Queen Tegwedd during High Queen Tegwedd is Elected at the Great Kingsmoot. The wars and battles in the selection of High Queen Tegwedd have caused many losses, which is the explanation for why he has hired mercenaries from Hennaria. Your guide Angharad Fawr confirms much of this information, but Angharad views Chief Harl Wartooth and being unnecessarily brutal and disagrees with his failure to penalize rapists. Angharad believes that any man that needs to use force to obtain sex is little better than an orc. There was a great feast, with bardic tales, music and excellent food. The Party had the following important encounters: They met the Chieftess Claire, who the Chief calls his breeding mule, and his lover, the warrior Brye, who is tatooed, nearly naked and carries a dried and shruken head around. The all members of the Party except the gnome felt the intense sexaul allure of Chief Harl Wartooth, and despite knowing beyond a reasonable doubt that they would have the best orgastic evening of their lives, no one accepted Harl's invitation to an evening of joy and ecstasy. There will always be a level of regret in their minds of a missed opportunity to have a completely fullfiling life. Mawatt's bard, Gwen, told a ribald pseduo-epic about the sexual inadequate half-elven Lord of Immersea, Crispin Jared. She told how half elves in general are effeminate, and how Lord Crispin Jared searched for love, and was then was serially abdonded by the women he loved because of his failures in the bedroom. In turn, he was deserted by a wood elven high priestess of the wood elven god Rillifane Rallathil, then by a Guar princess, and then he finally stole the daughter of the Fultonian Barony of Lithia. Being a fool, however, the new Lady of Immersea, Lady Eva Lithia Jared is a mute, deaf and dumb woman, and it is only a matter of time before this beatiful woman cuckholds and leaves the poor half-elf. The long and well spun poem was designed to test whether the Party could handle thinly veiled, but still not completely open, insults toward Immersea and half-elves in general. The Party passed the test. The Viking skald in turn sung his own songs, matching and even exceeding those of Gwen earning the Chief's praise, a new bow and magical arrows! The performance of the two bards will be an evening everyone will remember. The Party met the merchant Geneve Beswill and her two gypsy asssistants, the sorceress Begonia and the bodyguard/manservant Darklis. The gypsies seemed distracted, were often seen staring off in the distance, and had the look of lotus eaters. Geneve Bewsell is from Orlane, the Party's ultimate end point and the rumored home of Explicita Defilius. Geneve's is purchasing three gnomes from Chief Harl Wartooth, planned to stay a few days in Mawatt, and then travel overland back to Orlane. She is skipping the quicker trip to Orlane through Immersea and down the Tesser River because Lord Crispin Jared would not tolerate the smuggling and slavery of gnomes. The names of the three gnomes she is purchasing are Kern Softpeach, Orgyra Waywocket, and Smiggles Rainbowmaker.

Nuragic Way Station

The first night after leaving Mawatt, the Party stayed the night next to the ruins of an ancient pre-Fultonian civilizaiton called the Nuragic Empire at the Nuragic Way Station. Close to the strange ruins are a well used camp site set up for travelers between Mawatt and Immersea. The camp site was next to a freshwater stream with an abundant fire wood and a moderately well protected hillock. The way station is next to the ruins of an ancient pre-Fultonian temple from the Nuragic Empire. It is one day, 15 miles, from Mawatt, and three days, 60 miles, from Immersea, and technically the border point between Fultar and the Albae tribe in the Nation of Galletica (of which Mawatt is a member of).

Ross Border Tower

The second day after leaving Mawatt, the Party travels along a better maintained road through rolling hills with Fultonian shepherds and pastroalists. They stayed at the Fultonian Army's border fortress, called the Ross Border Tower. The soliders are technically under the direct chain of command of the Chief Marshall of the Northern Fultar miliarty, Gangus Font. More information about the Grand Marshall can be read in Ascension of Chief Marshal Trant. However, they work cooperatively with Lord Crispin Jared, who is only two days away, and in a time of immediate crisis will as a matter of practicalities, follow his direction unless it is completely unreasonable. The Party's Ranger is welcomed by the Fultonian soliders, who are happy to have Ranger in the area to help reopen the roads to Fultonian civilization. In a friendly rite of hazing and introduction, the soldiers force the Ranger to stay up all night, get drunk, and sing dirty songs. The soliders are tired of being a defensive bullwark against a potential invasion from the north, and would prefer to extend the glory and conquest of Fultar into the lands that used to be part of the great Fultonian Empire a thousand years ago. They see having a Ranger survey the northern lands as a good step in that direction, althought they would prefer to just invade and colonize the north. Ross Border Tower is run with great efficiency by Captain Sir Mikail the Unborn. The scout is Kenmare Foulmouth and the best horseman is serjeant Roc Flatface.

Gypsy Devils

Around mid day on the third day from Mawatt, the Party encountered an disheveled encampment of gypsies. An old fortune teller, Mahalla, provided the Party an opportunity to draw and keep magic cards, which Ivand, Gemme, Ankili mac Aevyrn, Monell and Odium Moulim took advantage of and each gained a magic card. Ankili received the "Hangedman Card", which will reduce the speed of any create by 6" movement points. The card can be used a limited number of times. Gemme received an incredibly powerful card: Death, which allows the resurrection of a dead person. The card can be used one time. The Party was introduced to Mahalla's granddaughter, the dancer Menowen and her nephew, the mage Fennix. This band of gypsies are in alliance with lawful evil devils against the forces of chaos and the Order of the Necromantia. Mahalla, requested the magic scimitar back, bargained with the Party, erupted in a tirade against the mother goddess Tya Nehru, and eventually led her gypsy and devil followers in battle to rerired the scimitar. Mahalla would not committ to destroy the scimitar now, but that it would need to be taken to the Ninth level of hell and destroyed by an archdevil: Asmodeus, the King of the Nine Hells. Mahalla's prophetic speech against the Tya Nehru: I have a few things against you, because thou sufferest that Goddess Tya Nehru, which calleth herself the Queen of Heaven, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and they will commit adultery with her into great tribulation, And I will kill her children with death; and all the temples shall know that I am he which search the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
