Tyri is the brutal, unforgiving leader of
Raskam.
Characteristics
Mental traits
Tyri is cold and brutal to her enemies, showing no mercy, but a caring leader to her village. Tyri believes that community is strenght and is the only way to survive the
Duchy of Freed. She holds the traditions of northlanders as truth and sees anyone who chooses to abandon their traditions as a traitor and an enemy.
History
Tyri was born of a political marriage, the daughter of the leader of Raskam, Kalkia, and her father, Albert Crestel, a nobleman of the
Kingdom of Vale. But her mother quickly abandoned her leadership role, pursuing another man and leaving the village in chaos. Tyri was raised by her father, who was cold and uncaring, with expectations she could never seem to meet.
Raskam was left impoverished due to Kalkia's neglect, and they started trading with the
Magpies to sustain its inhabitants. During a visit to the Magpies in the north, Tyri learned that her mother was once bested by them, earning her adoration. It was also here that she met the leader of the Magpies in the north,
Ingrid, who became Tyri's best and only friend. However, things quickly turned sour when Albert received orders from the Duke of the Duchy of Freedom and cut all ties with the Magpies, further weakening the village.
Word reached Kalkia about the failures of Raskam, prompting her return to proclaim herself leader again. Tyri was enraged by her mother's return and started secretly plotting to overthrow her and become the new leader.
During an expedition, Tyri once more met with Ingrid, who was starving and alone after forces sent by the empire destroyed the Magpies' lair in the north. Tyri took pity on her old friend and brought her back to Raskam, an act that the new leader and the guards did not take kindly. Tyri told Ingrid about her plan to overthrow Kalkia and asked for her help, to which Ingrid agreed, and they both swore an oath, making them Battlesisters.
With Ingrid's troop support, Tyri challenged her mother to a duel and won decisively, killing her in the process. Tyri was now the new leader of Raskam and did not waste a second, immediately allying with the Magpies again, secretly providing them with prisoners and those who opposed her for their slave trade.
Adventurers
A group of adventurers comes to Raskam, looking for a ship to bring them to the
Giant Island. This reminds the inhabitants of the village of the previous incident with giants only 5 years prior, and Tyri refuses to help the adventurers in their quest.
A few days after the adventurers' arrival,
Phoebe Bralt arrives, and requests an audience with Tyri. She's a member of the magpies and wants to prepare a boat for the adventurers in town. Tyri accepts to help a magpies and lets Phoebe take one of the village's boats to prepare it for the adventurers, as she specifies she wants to do it herself.
Thanks to that, the adventurers finally leave the small village, but return only a few weeks later to confront Tyri Crestel, about the incidents involving the boat that took them to the Giant Island. Tyri, initially defiant and unwilling to be intimidated by a band of adventurers, is forced to relent when faced with their overwhelming power, now bolstered by the possession of two powerful artifacts. Under pressure, she reveals the information she possesses, bringing the adventurers closer to uncovering the truth behind their recent trials.
Disgruntled, the adventurers demand more information about Phoebe. Tyri reveals that Phoebe is currently in the south and plans to visit
Holypertuis before returning to
Windrin. As Holypertuis is the adventurers' next destination for another artifact, they set off in search of the young woman.
