The Selective
They wear their armour, shine their swords and make sweeping statements about 'damsel' and 'purity'. Throw them in a real fight though... and they'd fall apart in moments. I don't attack them because I see no worth in them or their land. The Selective is a village on the Southern most side of North Epizonia, exeptionally close to The Circle. This village is a strange sight in the conflicting barony's of Epizonia and, being caught between the power houses of Stehno and The Circle, often leaves many to wonder how they have survived this long. The truth of the matter has nothing to do with warrior spirit, cunning or pride... rather, the village is wealthy enough and smart enough to cut deals with all sides. They have cut the same deal with Stehno that Abrazar and Rouge Sables and they made a rather unique agreement with The Circle for their protection. The Selective agreed to remove their leader and become their own barony and settlement only in name. They then rebuilt themselves to become a 'School for Knights and Squires' as well as a 'school for etiquette' where nobility could send their boys and girls to be trained in the 'traditional Epizonia virtues' which are, as always with Epizonia, a caricature and exxaggeration of Paradosia values and traditions. Boys are taught to be chivalrous knights, with training in weaponry, physical training, jousting, dueling and fencing whilst constantly being supplied by the village with weapons, armour and luxury. Girls, on the other hand, are sent to the 'School for Etiquette' where they are taught sewing, cooking, manners, diction and other 'desirable attributes'. Many of the older nobles in the barony's see sending their children to The Selective as a deeply honorable and important aspect of their educations... meanwhile many of the younger people who are sent there see The Selective as a holiday destination where they can drink, fight and 'make relations' with little to no consequences.
- The Azad Family respond to questions of why they do not assault The Selective.
