Trained by Baroness Millicent Commonbrook and her weapon master True , the Red Pauldrons represent the guard and military force of Rouge Sables and are often used by The Circle for additional protection.
The Red Pauldron's were created by Baroness Millicent Commonbrook after she made a political deal with Stehno, this deal was at further costs and debts for the town of Rouge Sables but it meant she was given a force of soldiers from Stehno, as well as being gifted True.
Whilst publicly professional, it is a well known rumour that True and Millicent are in some kind of amorous relationship, though the extent of which is not certain. True trained the former guards of Rouge Sables well and they soon become a skilled and disciplined fighting unit that mixed traditional Sibi fighting methods with the skill and grace of Epizonia and Paradosia knights and finally, with the magical skill prevalent in Razdelin.
The Red Pauldron's are named that way for their red ensemble armoured look as their armour is made of Glamoured Ruby red metal and they often wear a helmet with a face plate to obscure what they look like. They then typically wield a sword and shield whilst using their limited spellcasting capabilities for fighting at range. Because of their looks, distinctive voices and mannerisms, Red Pauldrons often aren't taken seriously, though they are exceptionally skilled fighters and their arcane prowess, however limited, is still potent.
