Sibi

We aren't barbarians and we aren't fools... you simply lack the character and strength to see our charms! A resident of Sibi defends his country from outsiders.
Sibi is the toughest and strangest nation in all of Thysia, split into two islands united by a single metal bridge between them. The southern island is incredibly hot and arid, with a desert based landscape. Meanwhile the Northern island is biting cold arctic and mountainous terrain.   Growing up in this landscape and this geographic gives the people of Sibi a hardy constitution, a passion and desire to survive no matter the cost and also a deeply dark sense of humour.   Politically this often means the people of Sibi are viewed by the rest of Thysia as simple, brutish or, at worst, primitive. Though the truth of the matter is that the people of Sibi are simply straightforward and laconic in their humour and beliefs.   Life may be hard in Sibi but, with their beliefs in the strongest thriving and survival first many people see an opportunity in Sibi for a community they would otherwise never have a part of.

Structure

Sibi is organised into a dictatorship style where the ruler of the country resides in the centre of the nation, controlling the bridge connecting the Northern and Southern islands. The current ruler of Sibi is the Black Dragonborn Reyva Cairnath, she is a middle aged Dragonborn at 38 years old who has ruled Sibi for 15 years after completing her trials of the true monarch.   Reyva has many advisors around her that she makes use of but in the country of Sibi there is very little notion of law or organisation unless it is revolving around the military of Sibi.

Culture

Sibi take their own forged cultures and beliefs very seriously, a deeply proud country, they make up for a lack of art and architecture in their nation with a confident toughness and a focus on their simple values of strength, survival. They also have a core set of traditions focused on spirituality and focus amongst them... often making Sibian's a deeply wise nation of people who are seen as far simpler and more 'stupid' than they actually are. The most well known Sibi tradition is The Voda Trials in which a single individual undergoes a pilgrimage across Sibi to prove they are the most cunning, powerful, resourceful and wisest of their nation. Only once they complete the trial can someone challenge the current ruler of Sibi in combat to take the throne. The trial is never taken lightly and the lack of individuals to complete this trial is a lot of the reason that 'Voda Cairnath' has lasted so long as ruler of Sibi.

Assets

Scarce and disorganised, the only notable city in Sibi is Tolle Brucke, the capital of Sibi that protects the bridge connecting the northern and southern islands. This city is well protected with high walls, a strong military and warm shelters. Though, Tolle Brucke would likely be sneered on by the glorious city's from other Thysian nations. The settlements in Sibi are tough spaces that struggle to survive and place an emphasis on simplicity and formal roles for everyone who lives and survives there. The Voda will trek across these settlements once a year and it is ensured that, after wandering the different settlements, the Voda contributes resources to the upkeep of these settlements.   The fact Sibi does not use money (seeing it as pointless and preferring the use of favours, jobs and trades) also makes it difficult to determine their wealth as a nation.

History

Sibi was settled in by the hardier races after The Uprising, the warriors who saw the war with the gods end and decided to keep their blades, bodies and wits sharp and ready. Sibi was treated as something of a training field, with it's terrifying and powerful monsters that regularly smell the warmth and meat on the residents of these settlements. Generation after generation of Sibians were raised with this tough training mindset and warrior spirit and so a society was built on these notions of routine, ritual, power and training.

Demography and Population

Most of the populations Soul Arms in Sibi are weapons or armour and there are very little seen of arcane focuses or unique Soul Arms that double as tools. It speaks to the black and white, straightforward nature of Sibian's that their items are often simple, efficient and straightforward like their wielders.
