Hugh Jermin
Sir Hugh Jermin
Hugh Jermin is the second son of Hollis Jermin. He is a 35-year-old Human and is the nominal commander of the Jermin Hill Guard Company. He is a dedicated father and husband that is torn between the desire to honorably support his greater family's interests and the nearly overwhelming knowledge that his father and brother are without honor and morally bankrupt.
Hugh married Lacey Turner when he was 25 and she was 19. Although the marriage was arranged and he did not even meet his wife until the day before the wedding, the couple have had a happy and productive marriage over the last ten years, producing three beautiful and energetic boys and a lovely little girl.

Personal history
Hugh is the younger son of a cold and controlling Hollis Jermin. He struggled from a very early age to establish himself as independent and self-determined in a household where the family decided what role a child would have and what opportunities would be followed. As a young child, Hugh was often bullied and sometimes even beaten by his older brother, Ward, who was blind in one eye and couldn't do the physically challenging things Hugh could accomplish. As a teenager, Hugh expressed a desire to serve with the vaunted Dragoons, but his father refused to consider it. So, Hugh taught himself how to ride, fight and shoot, even if it couldn't be in the Kingdom's service or even in a real tournament.
Hugh has always been very close to his cousin, Clay, from the moment he became a ward of Hollis after Clay's parents were killed in a fire. Very close in age, the two were nearly inseparable as young children and only found themselves apart once Clay listed with the Dragoons at the age of 16.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Driven to make his own way in the world, despite being a member of one of the wealthiest families in the Kingdom. Disliked by his older brother and distrusted by his overbearing father, he has not had an easy passage into adulthood and personal independence.
