Clay Jermin is the Captain of the Watch of the Town of Dunhill in the County of Redstone. He is a 35-year-old Human that was born and raised within the walls of Dunhill.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Tall, muscular man with thick arms and wide shoulders. He keeps his dark hair cut short and does not wear a beard. He has a series of quite horrific scars running down both sides of his face from a near deadly encounter with a very large Forest Dragon six years earlier that he does nothing to hide.
Facial Features
His face, arms and chest are terribly scarred from a battle with a particularly large Forest Dragon.
Apparel & Accessories
After killing the dragon that nearly killed him, Clay sold the beast's carcass for a sizable fortune. A significant portion of that bounty went towards a particularly fine suit of polished steel plate armor.

Personal history
Clay was orphaned when his mother and father were killed in a tragic fire when he was only 6 years old. He was raised by his father's brother, Hollis Jermin, in the palatial estate that would have been his own legacy, had his father not died. When he was 16 years old, his uncle sent him to serve with the Ward's Regiments of Dragoons, and he made quite a name for himself there. He earned the respect and friendship of many noble men, including such names as Lord Kenner Paige, Lord Stanlin Turner and Lord Urian Turner, and Lord Commander Will Bolder. His skills as a knight and a Dragoon are much respected and well known, and this reputation helped him into his role as Captain of the Watch of Dunhill even more than his family name did.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Coming from a wealthy local family, Clay earned himself both a proud name and a real personal fortune when fought and killed a dragon several years ago. The fortune has allowed him to provide a secure and comfortable life for himself, and his deeds have earned him the respect of his community, so much that he was loudly nominated by several hundred of his neighbors and friends when word of the search for a new Watch Captain was spread.
Clay's personal and professional success have made both his uncle Hollis and his cousin Ward quite envious and more than a little nervous. They can plainly see that the great wealth and authority of the Jermin name and all its influence mean very little to Clay.

As a native son of the Town of Dunhill, Clay is especially aware of the tensions that exist between the Clan Hardhelm and the Clan Redfist, and he does all he can to ensure that those tensions do not cause violence within the town walls. He makes it his particular goal to avoid taking one side over another whenever he has to become involved in local politics.

Clay has developed a close and very friendly relationship with Will Bolder, the Lord Commander of Dragoons for the Ward of Jemptal and the rightful heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Cobal. They are both close in age and both served together in several campaigns over the last ten years.
Wealth & Financial state
The Jermin family is a powerful and influential family within the County of Redstone and the Ward of Rolar, and as a family they are very wealthy, indeed. Clay has, independent of his extended family, garnered an impressive personal fortune that some rumors suggest exceeds 5,000 gold guineas. This personal fortune was earned through brave and honorable service to the Kingdom and is fully outside of the influence and interference of the Jermin family. In short, while he does still have access to the vast wealth of the Jermins, he does not actually need it.
