According to The Old Religion: In the emptiness, Io split into 12 Gods, and emanating from this divinity, all of existence began to coalesce.
It's said that the mysterious City of Brass that wanders the Sand Sea appeared long before the Gods created elves. The original beings who inhabited this place disappeared even before the Old Elves rise.
Eventually the elves began to form kingdoms in opposition to the dragons that ruled the world in this time. An era of mythical heroes blessed by the Gods, gaining untold magic to slay the ancient foes.
As elves conquered dragons and discovered more of the world, learning its secrets, a grand civilization was birthed. Powerful wizards ruled the population and various elven nations began to ally, leading to the Vetus Empire.
As the Vetus continued to gain arcane knowledge they began to create life itself, with the goal of creating species that could act as servants in various capacities.
The Vetus used Dwarves to construct perhaps their largest grand tower, the Tower of Aleria, with the city of Karakse-tal forming around it these same years.
The folklore legend Atlor Flaam, the Emberknight used his mythical sword to slay a ferocious beast, a wendigo in the forest today known as Wolf Forest.
The dwarves had banded together against their masters, using secret tunnels built in Karakse-tal during the building of the Tower of Aleria, they spent years smuggling the dwarven population away to their new nations deep underground.
The end of the First Age and the beginning of the current, Second Age. This cataclysmic event put into motion by the Old Elves changed the face of the planet and unleashed the current plague of Undeath.
