Sirasion (Si-ras-ee-on / Sy-ras-ee-on)
Theme Music
The Sirasions are the primary sentient species to the planet Siran, they are a predatory reptilian like species, with their most noticeable feature being the long, muscular tail that serves as their way of moving around. They are a race of advanced intelligence, the empire they founded achieving resounding success in its expansion across the galaxy and ruling with an iron fist.
The Sirasions are known for their quick wits, razor sharp reflexes and ruthless nature, these attributes carrying over to their technological feats. Sirasion built war machines and imperial trained soldiers serve to carrying their reputation across the galaxy as a people not to be trifled with.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The average Sirasion is similar in stature to most common bipedal races, though lacking the legs. They are characterized by their reptilian like features, brightly coloured skin ranging from vibrant blues to dark, murky shades of green and aqua. The physique of the Sirasion depends vastly on their gender. Male Sirasions sport a billowing pair of wings, bald heads with feather like plumes surrounding their hard ear lobes, while females have a slender frame with no wings and dreadlock like hair. but perhaps the biggest difference between the genders is that males have an elongated, predatory snout full of razor sharp teeth, while females have a flat faced skull very similar to a humans.
Biological Traits
Sirasion Subspecies
The Sirasions as they're known today stem from a lineage of different subspecies with unique appearances and attributes, the Mok'zahl, Zar'heel and Zor'khan. The one thing they all share is that they were all defined and changed over time by the never-ending struggle for planetary dominance. The Mok'zahl
mok'zahl Sirasions are one of the more common subspecies of Sirasion, they are tough, savage warriors with dark blue to green skin. Intimidating, jagged horns grow from their heads, elbows and tail. The males of the subspecies are equipped with an impressive pair of wings, while they have little practical use, their most common use is for attracting mates. Males and females of the subspecies sport an elongated snout full of rows of razor sharp teeth. Aswell as being vastly stronger physically and towering over other Sirasions in stature, pure Mok'zahl bloodlines are revered in modern Imperial Sirasion culture. Many Mok'zahl enter the military at a higher rank than the rest, with some of the most well known military leaders being pure blood mok'zahl. Notable individuals include Skar, Drai'gera and Sal'tarn DarkstarThe Zar'heel
zar'heel Sirasions are desert dwellers, their skin tones ranging from yellow to orange, both male and females have small wings, but don't have much of a use practically or socially. They have a flat faced skull with two large canine teeth attached to the bottom jaw, They are also the only Sirasions to be capable of producing venom, in this case in their saliva, but perhaps their most unique attribute is their eyes are capable of five times optical zoom. The Zar'heel are an un trusted subspecies and are extremely few in number, this mostly attributing to the war they started against the newly formed Sirasion Empire. After this their numbers were severely reduced, so drastically it was thought they had been completely wiped out.The Zor'khan
Zor'khan Sirasions are the smallest in stature of the subspecies, but what they lack in physical prowess they make up for in their dagger sharp wit and immeasurable intellect. They are thin in frame with aqua blue skin for males, and dark blue to purple skin for females. They are extremely illusive, populations of them do exist, but they are extremely wary of outsiders, including other Sirasions. The Mok'khan
The Mok'khan were the result of Zor'khan and Mok'zhal Sirasions cross breeding over the course of Sirasion development. Some five hundred years before the formation of the Sirasion Empire, Mok'khan Sirasions were starting to make a name for themselves in the ever present planetary war. However being a product of two sides they were often shunned by their peers. The Mok'khan took the best traits from each side, the physical strength of the Mok'zhal, and the sharp intellect of the Zor'khan. This gave them a natural advantage, which they made full use of. Males has the imposing figure of the Mok'zhal, aqua blue and green skin with a set of wings and elongated snout, while females took on the slender appearance of the Zor'khan with a dark blues and purple skin tones. They were the first Sirasions to make it into space, and upon achieving this they were seen as a force to be respected. They eventually conquered the rival factions and claimed the planetary dominance they sought after, forming the first Sirasion Empire. Due to their resounding victory and following population boom, it is estimated the Mok'khan comprise sixty-five percent of all Sirasions galaxy wide.Growth Rate & Stages
The Sirasions reproduce via an unconventional egg laying tactic. After intercourse, the female will begin to develop a single egg which she will carry for three months before it is laid. It will then be incubated either in the home of the parents or at an incubation centre where it will be closely monitored. The incubation time is usually six to eight months before the egg will hatch.
Sirasion infants are born with some instinctual behaviour. They are capable of instinctually recognizing their parents even when not meeting them for several months after birth. Sirasion infants are capable of moving for themselves several days after they hatch, and over the course of one year become capable of full speech. During their first year their mother may choose to breast feed them, however with modern advancements in technology this is often not needed, and as a result Sirasion breasts are considered to be a left over evolutionary trait.
At five years old, they are as capable as a ten year old human, and once they reach the age of thirteen, they are considered fully developed.
Female Sirasions do not change much in appearance as they grow aside from breast development and the sharpening of facial features, while males undergo a change at around ten to twelve years of age where their wings drastically increase in size, their snout becomes longer and their head feathers start growing.
Ecology and Habitats
The Sirasions inhabit the tropical moon of Siran, the fourth moon to the much larger jungle planet of Zoraksus.
Zoraksus
A colossal jungle plane, the size of a small gas giant, it is densely populated by flora and fauna that exist exclusively on its verdant landscape, the planet is seventy percent land mass with several large lakes spread across the surface which could be considered seas. Zoraksus itself is perfectly habitable by Sirasion life, but has not been populated due to the fact its fauna are so dangerous, it is also very difficult to stay on for long due to the immense humidity, even more so than Siran, meaning an air breathing individual would likely drown without proper equipment.Zoraksus Prime
unpopulated and covered by water, it has very little in the way of resources and only two percent land mass.Zoraksus II
the biggest of the three moons, Zoraksus 2 has numerous small Sirasion colony's, those who cant afford to live on Siran will often be forced to live on the middle class colonies on the Zoraksus moons. zoraksus 2 itself has a similar atmosphere to Siran, studies have shown that Zoraksus two used to be attached to Siran, but in an even still unknown today, it was separated and got trapped in Zoraksus' massive orbit perhaps billions of years agoZoraksus III
Zoraksus three i another jungle planet, however it has a lot more water vapor in the atmosphere, there are more colonies here than on Zoraksus two, however here the Sirasion colonists have to live in special cities with dome built over the top of them and filtering systems that filter out excess water vapor. on Zoraksus three there is a sentient race known as the Zoraksians that dwell deep in the jungles, they use gill like organs to filter out the water vaporSiran
The main home world of the Sirasions, this planet is a similar size to earth, however consists of eighty-seven percent ocean with much of its landmass being split into countless islands and archipelagos with a singular main continent. , it has a tropical climate all year round, accept for Siran's winter cycle in which the north of the worlds temperature descends into an alpine forest like climate, and with flora to match. other environments include mountain ranges, grassland and on the main continent, a sprawling desert. Siran has frequent tropical storms that cause Earth hurricanes to pale in comparison, its not uncommon for entire islands to be submerged for weeks, sometimes even months at a time due to such events. the planet also doesn't tend to shift seasons either, it being stuck in an almost constant rainy season. Siran is also known for its vast array of unique wild life, a lot of which boasts dazzlingly bright colours and sentient like intelligence which has allowed them to easily adapt to the colossal shield structure that was installed around the planet, taking generations to build, this structure is comprised of massive hexagonal shield plates thousands of miles long. The air on Siran is comprised of oxygen, water vapor, and a chemical called Phorizone. an additional chemical to the planets air compound that, while not being directly toxic to most foreign species, causes negative symptoms such as drowsiness, lethargy and difficulty breathing to those un-acclimated to the planets conditions. Plant life on Siran looks more like it should belong on the ocean floor, with carnivorous plants so large they are capable of snatching low flying aircraft. The plant life is dense, tough and meaty in structure, very much able to stand up to the onslaught that comes in the form of massive herbivorous animals that look more like they should be predators. unlike the Sirasions, many creatures on Siran have legs, with the Sirasions being the oddity with their serpentine tails. Carnivorous predators however are by no means uncommon, with creatures ranging from the size of ones thumb to the towering stature of buildings, all kitted with gnashing teeth, sharp claws, acid spit and more, all with the goal of killing and eating one another.Dietary Needs and Habits
Sirasions are omnivorous, though for a long time have had a keen taste for meat. They evolved as apex predators in all of their sub groups, though subspecies such as the Mok'zahl preferred meat over plants, while the Zor'khan primarily consumed plants. This has set the far more common Mok'khan variant as a split down the middle omnivore.
Due to most native Siran wildlife species having toxic meat, which was thought to be a direct response to Sirasions hunting and killing them, cultural customs adapted to favour more plant based meals, with many planet species on Siran being comprised of a hard flesh with a fungal like texture that becomes tender when cooked. Other than this, Sirasions have no need to cook most meals and are capable of eating meat raw.
Fish are also a big part of the Sirasion diet, their serpentine bodies being the perfect shape for hunting beneath the waves.
Biological Cycle
Sirasions have evolved to overcome most natural obstacles on their planet. Siran itself stays at a warm climate and has no such thing as harsh winters or scorching hot summers. The seasonal change is minimal, with the only places being affected by it are the northern areas of alpine like forest. Snow will often fall here, but despite that it does not get very cold.
The lifespan for Sirasions is anywhere from one hundred-twenty to two hundred, the average being around one hundred fifty. They don't generally get more frail with old age unless they are suffering from some sort of disease or other ailment, there for a Sirasion in their one hundred twentieth year will look indiscernible from an individual of fifty years, for example.
Often Sirasion deaths from old age come very suddenly when one of their vital organs contracts a disorder or simply shuts down due to wearing out. Otherwise, a Sirasion will often stay well and spritely until the day they die.
Additional Information
Social Structure
For the Sirasion species, power is everything, be that through physical domination and intimidation, social aptitude or ones overall reputation from both of these and more. The leader of any group of Sirasions will always be extremely physically capable, mentally wile and most importantly; exceptionally good at reminding their subordinates of their superior standing, be this through intimidation or positive reinforcement.
Sirasions are naturally drawn to the most powerful individual in their group, in the case of the Sirasion Empire, this is the Emperor/Empress or one of the war council. These individuals are seen to be the most powerful Sirasions around. Leadership in the Sirasion society is often achieved by overthrowing the current leader in physical, social or political action.
Family
The Sirasions began their evolution as a solitary race that only came together out of convenience to hunt. As such in their modern form, they still have an element of this solitary nature left within them. Sirasions do not need social interaction to maintain a sound mental state, for example. However this is not to say Sirasions cannot be social creatures. Sirasions enjoy socialising with one another and socialisation and interaction is an important part of their lives. When it comes to families, Sirasions are incredibly protective over their spouses and children, as one would expect. However when it comes to things like lineage, the family unit often takes a second place on the priority ladder. For example; If a Sirasion father, who runs a business, has a child who shows no interest, aptitude or talent for working in that same field, the father will be more inclined to leave that business to someone more capable rather than his child, simply for having the title of 'X's Son'. Sirasions can still develop incredibly close bonds with one another, however these spaces are often filled with very close friends that fill the roles of family members such as the Father, Mother, Brother and so on. Sirasions can experience the same feelings towards their chosen 'family' as if it were a biological trait. Like how many mothers would sacrifice themselves for the future of their children, a Sirasion may also do the same for his 'Brothers and sisters'. After growing up and reaching adulthood, Sirasions very rarely stay around their families, often travelling far afield to seek their fortunes elsewhere. Very rarely will Sirasions speak highly of a family legacy, as Sirasions believe that it is ones own actions and choices that define them, not that of their parents.Darkstar Succeeding Zurrok
Zurrok was the first individual to rule the Sirasion Empire as they made their way across the stars, managing to do so while not even being a Sirasion. This was a situation the Sirasion people had never faced before. They viewed Zurrok as an incredibly powerful individual due to his intellect, political and tactical cunning as well as his all powerful war droid designs. However he wasn't Sirasion. At first this didn't concern them, however as his reign continued various Sirasion groups began to question whether he should have been the ruler of an entire species that was not his own. Eventually, due to this reason and several others, Zurrok succeeded his position to Sal'tarn Darkstar, who restored the fighting spirit in the Sirasion people and put an end to any disagreements with his exertion of absolute dominance. Some groups and individuals who had adopted a more democratic ideology after being exposed to other galactic cultures and were more in support of Zurrok, though the vast overarching majority welcomed Darkstar with eager anticipation.Honour in Sirasion Society
Honour is a hotly debated topic in the galaxy, especially when it comes to the Sirasions. Their concept of honor much differs from the general norm. For a Sirasion commander to lure the enemy leader into parley only to turn on him and spring a trap would usually be considered as a cowardly, dishonourable move, but to the Sirasions, should they come off as victorious, consider it a greatly heroic act. Allowing fleeing enemy soldiers to survive when you know they will be kitted up and return to fight you later would also be considered a dishonourable act, to gun them down as they run away to prevent them from returning to fight you later would be the opposite. Of course the concept changes when its a Sirasion versus Sirasion conflict, in these cases their rules of honour are often similar to the rest of the galaxyFacial characteristics
Sharp, predatory. Males have an elongated snout full of razor sharp teeth while females features consist of a flat, human-like skull with pointed features. both genders have incredibly sharp canine fangs. Males often lack hair, opting to grow feather or leaf like fans around their ears instead, while females have a full head of hair comprised of thick, dreadlock-like strands.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
The Sirasions were split up as a species several million years ago after the sea levels on Siran drastically rose, drowning most of the planets landmass. This map of the planets surface represents where each subspecies have been traced back to geographically, blue for Mok'zahl, yellow for Zar'heel and green for Zor'khan. Very little is known about Sirasion populations that evolved on the countless smaller islands on Siran, some experts suggesting there could have been a plethora of undiscovered subspecies.
Average Intelligence
Advanced. Have mastered highly complicated concepts such as interstellar travel, artificial intelligence technology and synaptic engineering.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Sirasions possess six major senses; sight, hearing, taste, touch, smell, and another sense known as "ground sense"
Touch: Sirasions experience physical sensation through a network of interconnected nerves that run through their spinal cord and into the brain. Their nervous system works in the same way as most other vertebrate species, however contains roughly twice the amount of nerve endings, allowing the Sirasion to feel the tiniest lumps, bumps and imperfections in on a surface and dexterously manipulate the environment around them.
Touch
The Sirasion nervous system possesses the unique ability of being able to selectively shut off certain parts of itself when the body experiences overstimulation. It is theorized this came to be so a wounded Sirasion who had damage to the tail could escape danger without being hindered by the pain. Smell: the Sirasion olfactory system is capable of sensing a wide range of chemicals, it is no more effective than the average but is not lacking. Due to the species lack of pheromonal communication their sense of smell is one of the least developed of their senses.Sight
The Sirasion eye is reptilian like in appearance, its pupil forming a slit like shape. The colour of a Sirasion eye is usually determined by the colour of their skin, but is nearly always blue or green. The Zar'heel Sirasions possess the inate ability of five times telescopic sight, this is achieved by an extra lid over their eye that forms a cartilage lens.Hearing
Sirasion ears are hard lobes on the side of the head with three slits across its circumference. With the slits open sound travels directly into the ear canal. Should a harmfully loud sound occur within their vicinity, the ear has special muscles that automatically snap the slits shut before the sound waves penetrate the ear, protecting the sensitive ear drum from damage. The Sirasion can also open and close these slits at will, making them extremely resistant against sonic based attacks. The Mak'lao Device: a Sirasion who went by the name of Mak'lao, a biology professor, made a major discovery in Mok'khan physiology. It was discovered that all Sirasions possess the ability to use their ears like a radar over short ranges. All Sirasions possess a nerve that runs from their brain direct to the ears, if the right part of the brain is stimulated by the right amount of electricity it can make use of the nerve, allowing small radar wave like electrical pulses to be emitted from the Sirasion ears. Though the range was nothing comparable to an radar station and could only work over a radius of roughly twenty feet, with the longest documented cased being half a mile. The device created by Mak'lao was a simple chip that would be attached to the back of the neck, but later was sized down to be planted under the skin and directly onto the skull. The mak'lao device is one of the most common implants in Sirasion societyGround Sence
ground sense is a sense unique to the Sirasions, the ceroc plates on the underside of the tail pick up minuscule tremors in the ground made by footsteps and alike, if this sense is trained properly it can be used as a complete substitute to sight, some even perfecting it so well they can recognize a face just by being near someone. Sirasion Highguard soldiers use this skill to anticipate their opponents movements before they even make them.Taste
taste for the Sirasions works by using chemicals that are excreted from glands on the tongue, the tongue of a Sirasion is shaped like a two pronged claw ,the tongue can use the two sharp prongs to grab onto food as well as break it apart for easier consumption. The chemicals on the tongue are excreted onto items in the mouth, the biological makeup of the chemical will change depending onto what substance it comes into contact with, this information will then be relayed to the brain and registered as a taste via a small gland on the roof of the mouth, thus the Sirasions taste can work in a similer way to that of a snakeThe Anatomy
The Layers of the Sirasion Anatomy.
Skin
Sirasion skin differs in its thickness and colour between the different subspecies. It's general colouration is usually consistent with blues and greens to pinks and purples, though skin colouration of a certain shade is often passed biologically. Though with certain shades such as aqua blue being a particularly strong genetic profile, some skin colours are far more prominent than others. In Sirasions, males generally have the thicker skin, rough and leathery to the touch, making them resistant against attacks, while female skin is smooth, thinner, and a lot lighter in weight. Sirasion skin is completely pore-less, meaning they're incapable of perspiring through it. Their reptilian skin acts like a net of thermal camoflague, taking in the ambient temperature around the Sirasion. Due to this attribute, most of the time Sirasions fail to appear on thermal scopes and life sign scanners. This attribute is also their downfall in cold weather, them being extremely vulnerable to it. Temperatures of below freezing can only be withstood for as limited amount of time, and without proper equipment quickly prove fatal. Thermal Pits Sirasions are incapable of perspiring through their skin aside from one place, the three pits on either side of their lower torso. These pits are similar in appearance to gills, but are solely responsible for sweating out excess heat and moisture.Ceroc Plates
Ceroc is what makes Sirasions bones and other keratinous parts of their body, it is visible on the outside of their bodies in horns that some Sirasions possess, elbow spikes, tail spikes and the plates on the underside of a Sirasions tail. Ceroc is extremely strong and has been known, in some cases, to deflect 50 caliber bullets and most laser blasts, this is often why Sirasions choose to forgo armour on the front of their tails, their natural protection often equaling or surpassing most available battle armour. The ceroc plates are also incredibly sensitive to vibrations, making them an integral part of Sirasion Ground Sense.Hair
hair on Sirasions is made up of a material similar to ceroc but in a much less dense form, hair on Sirasions only exists on the head, there is absolutely no body hair anywhere else. Each individual strand of hair is roughly one and a half millimeters thick and groups together with other adjacent strands, forming natural "dreadlocks" unless the Sirasion chooses to style it differently. Around the ear lobes grows a different type of "hair" with a similar appearance to feathers or leaves grow in a ring around the earlobe. Sirasion females are seldom capable of growing these ear feathers to the same extend of males, just as it is much harder for male Sirasions to grow a full head of hair. And more often than not, a male Sirasion will choose to keep any hair on their head completely shaved down, making the crest on their head appear more prominent. In the Sirasion military, the mandatory haircut for males has always been a completely bald head with their ear feathers kept neatly pointing into a backwards fan shape. This has always been the traditional warrior look, and while the feathers are capable of feeling changes in heat and wind, their overall purpose is to make the Sirasion more imposing to the enemy.Muscles
The way the Sirasions move is quite unique, a red-green liquid saturates the muscular tissue that layers over most of the bones, the liquid, called Grat, is directly controlled by the brain, it is unknown how exactly this happens, but researchers believe it is done by an electrical connection the brain has with each individual cell. The brain sends signals to the Grat cells to merge, a single Grat cell can merge with hundreds of others, as the cells merge and become denser the number of cells filling the space is lessened, causing the muscle to become less saturated and contract. this process is still not understood fully as it goes down what is believed an atomic level, all in all, very little is known about the way Sirasions move there bodies. Because of this function though, Sirasions do not require hearts, in the place of a heart they have an organ that deposits new Grat cells. This property also allows Sirasions to remain completely motionless for long periods of time and enter a willful state of torpor. This is believed to stem from their days as an ambush predator somewhere down their evolutionary line. Sirasions don't gain muscle mass directly through the tearing and rebuilding of muscles, but instead, physical exercise for them increases the potency of their Grat cells. The more developed and stronger an individual's Grat cells are, the more capable he is of lifting heavy objects. Highly trained individuals don't necessarily bulk up, with all the difference being internal. Grat cells are gelatinous in their consistency, and the more of them there are in a certain part of the body, the quicker bleeding from the gravest of wounds is stopped. Sirasions are known for taking terrible damage to their tail, and due to the amount of Grat present within, the bleeding halting almost instantiously. The Tail
A Sirasions tail has three times the rest of the body's Grat equivalent, is it capable on average of lifting three times the Sirasions own weight, but after training can lift even more, being such a solid chunk of pure muscle, Sirasions have been known to be able to uproot some trees by hand. skeleton: the Sirasion skeleton consists entirely of ceroc, ceroc itself is extremely tough, the forearm bone from a Sirasion requires power tools to be able to cut into it. inside the bones, instead of soft bone marrow there is a hard, metalic like substance which freezes and melts depending on the surrounding temperature of the Sirasion, it also seems to exhibit changes in behavior when the Sirasion equivalent to adrenaline is deposited, so in stressful situations such as a combat scenario, a Sirasion's bones are twice as hard to break as usual.Horns
Horns are somewhat of a rarity on Sirasions today, being a trademark of a Mok'zahl pureblood. Due to this reverence the Mok'zahl carry in current day Sirasion society the horns are seen as a status symbol. They have little application in combat, but can be sharpened to a blade like edge, with it going on record some Mok'zahl Sirasions using them in dire melee combat situations.Major Organs
The Sirasion Major Organs and their Purpose within the Body.
Stomach
The Sirasion stomach digests all the food they consume, it works in a fairly linier way, serving as a pool of digestive acids to break up bits of food. However the food doesn't stay in here for long, infact its often argued whether it could even be called a stomach at all, as all it really does is wash the consumed material in digestive fluids to prepare it for the next stage of digestion.Intestines
Sirasion intestines work in a unique way, instead of being extremely long and packed up they are a lot shorter, inside the intestines are muscles with barbed teeth on them which grind up food partially dissolved by the stomach acid, these organs are called krazir'kajigus, and there are five of these organs in total. They get smaller the further into the digestive tract, and by the time the food is broken down enough and all the nurturance is absorbed, what remains is excreted, the krazir'kajigus organs teeth are made of a hard yet spongy material which absorbs the nurturance as it grinds down the material. No waste water is left in the digestion process, meaning Sirasions do not have to urinate. The whole digestion process is extremely fast, a consumed meal going from mouth to excretion in roughly an hour. Sirasions do not feel hunger in a conventional way, eating for them is a necessity over anything else. They can go an incredibly long time without eating provided they have consumed a large amount prior. The longest time a Sirasion has gone without eating was documented at six months.Kai'arns organ
the kai'arns organ is in the center of a Sirasion's chest, it contracts several times a minute and as it does so Grat cells are deposited into the muscular tissue and spread from there throughout the body and too where they are needed, replacing dead and old Grat cells. Grat cells never usually last more than three days. There are a number of disorders involving this organ, the most notable is known as Gratacus Herocis, which is caused when Grat cells are not replaced fast enough. The symptoms of this cause the individual to become lethargic, and without treatment will simply be unable to move.Brain
the Sirasion brain is by far the most complicated organ in the Sirasion body, still very little is known about it today, some notable factors is that the brain doesn't exhibit any disabilities such as autism, dylexia ect... the Sirasion brain doesn't deteriorate in a conventional way, a Sirasion is often fully cognitive and aware until the day they day, with most old age deaths coming suddenly and rarely due to brain related diseases. Sirasions are also fully ambidextrous, every Sirasion being just as capable with their right hand as they are with their left.Lungs
Sirasion lungs expand and contrast with the help of Grat cells. Instead of being hollow they have a gristly honey comb structure within that filters out impurities, giving them immunity to some airborne toxicitiesFer'gus' organ
this organ draws in dead and old Grat cells and disposes of them with an acidic compound far stronger than digestive fluid. It is said that cutting open this organ without proper protection can cause fatal burns.Immune system
The Sirasion immune system uses Grat cells which are fused together in a different process than the one used to move muscles, known from there as super grat cells, or SGCs, SGCs are produced in several organs called lyrox organs, there are approximately twenty of these throughout the Sirasion body which produce SGCs. SGCs work by engulfing a virus and keeping it contained, it takes approximately twenty minutes for an SGC to destroy an average virus cell. In deadly virus situations the lyrox organs kick into overdrive to fight the virus, very rarely a disorder known as lyroc dioxar can occur, this means the lyrox organs start to take more grat cells to fight the infection than the body can handle, leading to the eventual overstressing and shutdown of the kai'arns organ. Sirasion nanobots are also used to fight deadly viruses on a cellular level, the most common Sirasion nanobot used to fight deadly viruses is the vc-60 nanobot, these nanobots find virus cells trapped within SGCs and force their way through the SGCs protective wall and destroy the virus cell inside manually. These nanobots are so well developed and widespread that the average Sirasion always contains a population of them. And through regular topups of their nanite reserves they are immune to most common ailments.Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Sirasion names, the same as the language, are sharp and very commonly double barreled containing a single or multiple apostrophes. The second half of the name often baring a meaning such as 'strong' 'fast' or 'cunning' as well as a combination of multiple meanings that only make sense in Sirasion tongue. Female names almost always end with an 'ah' sound or the letter A in English/galactic common, while this definitely isn't a rule, it is certainly a commonality.
In Sirasion naming traditions, each part of the name is a section of two different words, both strung together in the most pronounceable way in order to create the name.
Male names;
Kaz'ahn Sal'tar Khar'tok Kel'ran Var'tax Zur'rok Van'darFemale names;
Nat'ira Kal'ira Sar'lira Ki'ra Zal'ana Kir'asha Ver'icaFamily Names
Sirasions do not typically have a passed down family name, however their family may earn a title that may be passed through generations. For example, Sal'tarn Darkstar took on the name of the Imperial warship; the S.I.N Darkstar as his family name. Otherwise, an individual may refer their family name to the planet of district they came from, but this tends to only be done in issues where two individuals have the same name.Major Organizations
The Sirasion Empire - the glue that holds the Sirasion people together, the Sirasion Empire reigns supreme in its section of the galaxy, ruling with an iron, yet fair, fist.
The Sirasion Contingency - a sub faction of Sirasions that hold a different ideaology to the Sirasion Empire, while working closely together with them, they remain their own entity.
The Sirasion Wardroid Divisions - The War Droid division is one of the main organisations for ground combat in the Empire, Sirasion war droids being some of the most potent war machines on the battlefield.
The Watchers - A mysterious religious organization that were responsible for putting Zurrok on the throne, they are considered a myth to the Sirasion people and their last official record ended in the Great Uprising, but it is heavily suggested they are still around, pulling strings from the shadow.
The Sirasion Imperial Navy - The domineering force comprised of an extensive variation of ships equipped for any space battle. The Imperial navy is known for it's sleek ships resembling giant birds of prey that employ heavy forward facing firepower.
The Highguard - The Sirasion's super soldier program, Highguard soldiers are created from hand picked parents, the unborn individual is genetically modified extensively before even being born, they are then harshly trained into unthinking, unfeeling killing machines known for their lightning speed and deadly melee combat skills.
The Cult of Trezekh/Imperial Inteligence - a shadowy organisation of assassins that operate in the name the shadow god; Trezekh. They were founded by Sypherian early in the galactic war and even after their official disbandment they continue to serve as imperial intelligence, but with all the same finesse and deadly accuracy as they always have done.
The order of the Pariahs - The Pariahs are a sect of Sirasion soldiers who choose to have their wings amputated in favour of a fully working cybernetic set. Removal of ones wings in Sirasion society is considered taboo, and for a male Sirasion to lack his wings is usually considered a sign of weakness, hense the name of the sect. But regardless of what is thought of them, the Pariahs are deadly aerial bringers of death, soaring over the battlefield annihilating their quarry below.
Anti-corruption specialised unit (ACSU) - the ACSU are trained specifically to fight corruption, be that destabilising a cult all the way to a full blown demon invasion. ACSU soldiers are some of the most well trained and versatile ground fighters in the Sirasion Empire, facing some of the most terrifying foes the galaxy has to offer.
Courtship Ideals
Courting in the Sirasion people is generally quite loose and does not follow a set of rules. While there are traditions surrounding, not all choose to practise them. Courting could be as simple as chatting up another individual at a bar all the way to one of the many sanctioned events where individuals will compete for the favour of others.
At these events, challenges similar to what is went through in ones trial of adulthood are presented, with a heavy emphasis on the combat side of things. Events like this are typically attended by younger Sirasions and are often the site of a lot of promiscuous flings rather than the start of actual relationships. The day usually consists of training in the morning and a series of combat based challenges in the afternoon, with general partying continuing late unto the night. Events such as these vary in scale and theme, but all centre around the idea of individuals trying to impress one another in an attempt to gain favour. These events are named Morrakgurtha, but are usually shortened to Morraks.
The Emperor
Before the age of the interstellar Sirasion Empire, Sirasion leaders would generally get first pick of potential partners. Due to Sirasions being inherantly drawn to the strongest individual, these leaders were often such, and as a result, the most sexually appealing. The same went for the Sirasion Emperor, however it was considered that he could not have a weak partner, so individuals competing for his favour would fight each other bitterly for the right to be by his side. In the current day, things have not been so simple, with Zurrok not even being a Sirasion, he was seen as exempt from this rule as he chose Tirana to be his wife. After that there was Sal'tarn Darkstar, who had lost his wife before becoming Emperor. Members of the council did try to persuade Darkstar to take on a new partner in a grandiose Morrak but he adamantly refused. With Sar'lira being the first Empress in history in a previous male dominated line, it is hard to say where these traditions lie.Average Technological Level
Sirasion technology is some of the most advanced and thoroughly developed in the galaxy. Their weapons being some of the strongest, their aircraft capable of outmatching others in nearly every category and their mastery of nanobot engineering gives them an unparalleled advantage in the medical field. Major Language Groups and Dialects
The Sirasion language, or simply called 'Sirasion' or 'Siran Speak' , is comprised of a series of symbols often appearing jumbled together in a mass of geometric lines, edges and circles. Two versions of Siran Speak exist, linear and non linear. The given example is of linear speak, which involves having the text laid out flat in a horizontal line, making it easier to read, though as a sacrifice taking up more space. The alternative is non linear Siran Speak, this involves having the characters placed very close to one another like a jigsaw puzzle. Non linear Siran Speak is extremely difficult to translate, it seeming to come naturally to a Sirasion brain rather than being a learned skill.
The language itself has a very sharp sound with many hisses, rolled Rs and guttural tones.
Common Dress Code
Sirasions clothing tends to be fairly varied, different cultures on different planets having vastly altered ways of dressing to one another.
The Cloak
In Sirasion society, black cloaks are considered a symbol of power and rank. A Sirasion wearing a cloak will usually be of high up military status. The social rite to wear a cloak often means excelling in military service and achieving a higher rank or by doing the Empire a great service otherwise, the individual then being rewarded an imperial cloak. Other colours of cloaks are often worn as part of fashion, but the black cloak is reserved strictly for those who have earned the right to wear one. By looking at an individual's cloak one can often tell the status of them, with a basic drape of fabric hanging in front of the shoulder to a shoulder covering, all the way to a full back-trailing cape, the more elaborate the cloak, the higher rank the wearer.Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
In Sirasion society, one of their defining sociological customs is that every individual, regardless of gender, must undergo some form of military service, be that as a front line soldier all the way to a maintenance attendant on board an imperial warship, as long as the individual is benefiting the military might of the Sirasion people and proving the species superiority. If one was to avoid this duty for any reason it would be considered a great dishonor to the individual, while it is not illegal to avoid military service, the way society view the individual is usually considered punishment enough.
When a Sirasion reaches the age of thirteen, they undergo their trial of adulthood, a set of challenges that also act as selection for potential military roles. The trials are split up into three sections; Strength, Stratagy and devotion.
The strength trials are directly combat based, here the initiates compete against one another in trials of combat prowess such as weapon duels and assault courses. The strategy trials have the initiates placed in a virtual reality scenario where they are placed in direct command of a battleforce where they compete against each other and then eventually a qualified Sirasion Battlemaster. It is expected the initiates will fail this last challenge, but should they beat the battlemaster they are often selected immediately for commanding roles within the military. The trial of devotion involves the initiate spending a week within the temple of their chosen god, here they will undergo various trials similar to the ones they have faced already but tailored to the expectations of the temple grandmaster.
After all these challenges have been completed, the real trial begins. Individuals are given weapons loaded with dna specific rounds, meaning these rounds will only affect, and in this case stun, indeviduals tuned to the weapons frequency. Indeviduals are encouraged to form teams, though this is not mandatory, some of the most successful Sirasion millitants chose to complete this trial alone, Van'dar and Sal'tarn Darkstar being notable examples. When the challenge begins they are dropped into random points in a specific location encompassing a geographical region with nothing but their blaster, a communicator and initiates combat armour. The last indevidual or team standing is the victor of the challenge, others will be individually assessed to determine whether their performance as adequate, if they are deemed to have failed the challenge they must attempt it again. Should they fail two more times, they must begin the trials again. The length of the challenge isn't set and does not end until there is only one indevidual or team left standing. The longest example of this trial was Sal'tarn Darkstar's attempt, where he and one other initiate, also acting as an indevidual, were in a standoff for three weeks.
History
The origin or Sirasion life came to be the same way every other sentient race did, by evolving to become masters of their domain and grow to be the most effective predators on their planet. There are countless speculations as to why Sirasion life evolved without legs while many creatures on the planet have them and lack the serpentine tails that characterize the Sirasions, some even speculating the Sirasion species evolved from an alien animal that somehow ended up on the planet. Their similarity in some aspects to humans is also a hotly debated topic, with them in some ways quite heavily resembling them, such as female Sirasion faces and the upper body structure.
However that is where the similarities end. Sirasion life began in the oceans of Siran, but unlike humans it stayed there for far longer. The Sirasion evolutionary process on land was extremely quick by most standards. Three quarters of their evolutionary life being spent in the sea as a predatory, eel like vertebrate.
The first Sirasion form to crawl onto land was a winged serpentine creature which would later, over the course of several million years, evolve into the dominant species on Siran.
The Continental Split: the main reason the Sirasions were separated into three different sub-species is due to a cataclysmic tectonic shift in the planets plates. over the period of 5 years the ground quake caused the planets water level to rise exponentially. Eighty-five percent of the planets landmass was consumed by the ocean, which caused the split up of the sub races
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
In Sirasion society there is an inherent sense of superiority over other races. To the Sirasions, they are the most superior race in the galaxy, with everyone else deserving to be ruled under them. They do occasionally take exception to this when a race proves themselves to be a worthy ally, but even then it is uncommon for Sirasions to truly view other races as their equals.
