Tesseract
Long ago, before the Sirasions or anyone else in the galaxy had even crawled out of the mud, the Shadow god Trezekh used the empty milkyway galaxy as a testing ground for his various experiments.
To the beings the Sirasions worship, or simply put, the Sirasion Pantheon, the material universe was something that existed in their own plain of existence as somewhat of an anomaly, a fishbowl or ant farm of sorts. The various beings that made up the realm of the Pantheon all had their stake within this, to them, tiny environment, but it was not until Syros, the Sirasions god of war, became triumphant in what was known to the Pantheon as 'The Great Opposition' that he assumed full control over the material universe.
Trezekh, being the brother of Syros, was given access to it to a certain degree. Trezekh spent much of his time creating planets in his own image. He created a vast amount of dark worlds that lay permanently engulfed in shadows. He created these worlds using a tool called the World Forger. To create these worlds Trezekh first had to have a base, and that base was Tesseract. From there, the planet formed around it, and even after Trezekh lost the World Forger, these planets continued their lives naturally, growing life in a multitude of forms, making them indistinguishable from the naturally formed planets of today.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Tesseract is seen as a translucent, crystalline substance that is hard to the touch. It bares a dark green complexion with tiny bright green slithers of light darting around periodically within.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Tesseract in the current state of affairs serves as a weaponized substance used exclusively by the Sirasion Empire. It contains an incredibly amount of mysterious, raw energy that upon even so much as chipping the exterior of a tesseract crystal can cause a violent reaction and the release of lethal Tesseract Energy.
Tesseract energy takes the form of green lightning bolts that behave differently to traditional electricity, with the right measures Tesseract Energy can be shaped into a controlled blast. It also moves much slower than conventional lightning. Any form of material hit by Tesseract Energy is instantly catapulted into the Realm of Trezekh, a pocket of the Sirasion Pantheon realm. This is usually the chunks of metal of flesh hit by the blast, but on a larger scale, this can be an entire person or ship. It is unknown where in the realm of Trezekh Tesseract Energy transports the victim or pieces of them, but often it is considered to be in a dark, empty environment or a space vacuum. Either way, death is certain if the person is unlucky enough to survive the trip.
Origin & Source
Tesseract is known to be a product of the shadow god, Trezekh when he created a large number of planets billions of years ago. It is found deep below a planets surface and must be mined with extreme care.
History & Usage
History
Tesseract was discovered by the Sirasion Empire during the Great Uprising, with its first big use being in the last ditch attempt to save the Empire. The Sirasions spent most of the uprising period studying the material and towards the end had developed a way of using tesseract to transport objects to and from the Realm of Trezekh. in an incredibly ambitious move, Zurrok ordered as much Tesseract mined as possible and placed in chambers deep within Siran's crust. As the nearing armadas of Rebel forces bore down on the planet, Zurrok ordered any Sirasions still loyal to the Empire back to Siran where he then had the Tesseract detonated. The resulting release of Tesseract Energy caused the entire planet to be sucked into the Realm of Trezekh with everyone on it. From there, the Sirasions explored the realm and used any resources they found or brought with them to rebuild and be ready for their return.
The Galactic War
Following a second detonation of Tesseract, Siran was catapulted back into the position it once rested in. Now the Sirasions understood Tesseract more, it was refined into a weapon. The rare and valuable resource is considered one of the deadliest weapons on the battlefield, being able to tear through the toughest of tank armour and completely bypassing shields. Tesseract based weapons work by using a reserve of Tesseract crystal and a hammer, also made entirely of the same material. Because the only thing immune to Tesseract Energy and capable of conducting it is the material itself, all the internal components need to be lined with Tesseract in order for the weapon not to destroy itself. As the Galactic War progressed and the Sirasion understanding of Tesseract grew, a device known as the Tesseract Amulet was created, this device containing a palm sized piece of the material would be worn around the users neck. in a time of great danger or certain death, the user could depress the three buttons on the amulet which would trigger a Tesseract Energy burst. Due to the amulets construction, the first burst would send the user straight to the realm of Trezekh, but then a second, perfectly timed burst would activate at the correct point to pull the user back, but instead of ending up where they entered the realm, they would be drawn back to the strongest point in the galaxy that is significant to the shadow god; the Temple of Trezekh on Siran. Using a tesseract amulet is not without its risks, there is a chance it will fail, dooming the user to be trapped in the Realm of Trezekh, hence why they are seldom used unless the situation is critical. Zurrok is known to possess an internal Tesseract Amulet, but has not yet had to use it.Cultural Significance and Usage
Being a product of the Sirasion shadow god, many devotees of Trezekh regard the material in an almost sacred manner. Even those Sirasions who are not followers of Trezekh are cautious with its use, only fielding Tesseract weapons when its absolutely necessary due to the element of superstition about them. It is often a giveaway that the Sirasion commander is a follower of Trezekh when he or she has a large arsenal of tesseract based weaponry. Some Sirasion commanders and operators are even observed chanting prayers in their native tongue to the shadow god as they mercilessly cut down their enemies with Tesseract Energy.
Refinement
The only way Tesseract can be manipulated is with extreme heat, it melts in a similar way to bismuth crystal and hardens again in a similar way. Even the smallest flakes of Tesseract are enough to release a dangerous charge of Tesseract Energy.
Distribution
Trade & Market
The regulation of Tesseract is tightly controlled by the Sirasion Empire, they are extremely possessive over the resource as it has only ever been found in territory controlled by them. Because of its properties, Tesseract is extremely valuable and extremely illegal. If it is owned by anyone other than the Siraison Empire it is often as a display piece to show off ones wealth.
