Session 37: What Have the Heroes Discovered? Report

General Summary

The heroes manage to get rid of the body of Athelbrooke into a ditch. They gather up the remaining horses and head off back to Eschbach. They make it back to see that there are personal troops of Charlemagne in the village. Charlemagne himself is in the village eating lunch, and is informed that they had killed Athelbrooke, took two theigns captive and had retrieved a letter written initially in cuneiform sent by Lord Diablos to Athelbrooke saying Grimmaz is to be killed. The three other pages is undecipherable, and they will need it translated.
After visiting the new area to be built up, they went to the church. There they are greeted by four merchant representatives looking to set up trade networks to the town. One is from Saltzburg looking to trade in salt and other secondary items, the second is from Wien and looking to trade in metal ores etc and items from southern trade routes. The third is from Parisius looking general wares and food stuffs and items from southern Britain. The fourth is from Aachen and wants to set up general trade, and to set up a network of slave trading in the area.
On in the church they get the elderly priest to send a message Father Tossil to try to decipher the other pages. Then they leave, see Charlemagne off, and head to the tavern. They spend a few hours drinking & eating and have arranged for the Council to turn down the slavery. When talking to the reps, they are informed that they will accept the deals, except the slavery. Also, Willhelm uses telepathy to scan the reps, using it to make the Aachen rep feel guilty about slavery.
In the morning, they meet with the council, get the traders to sign agreements, and then have Father Tossil arrive.
