Jarl Barnard Athelbrooke is a cruel man, having fought up the ranks of his trine to become its leader, at least what is left of it. He is bald with a moustache & beard, a damaged right eye, and a scar above & below it. His an excellent sword fighter, using a longsword, and wears leather armour with an iron helmet.
About 45 odd years old, he is not above using dirty tricks to stay ahead. Always accompanied by five thegns, hardly any fighters remain of his tribe so he, and his cronies are always doing the actual tribal fighting. Both him and his men take on contracts for the dirty jobs the Saxons & their allies want done.
At present he is looking for a bit of loot that he stored under the floorboards of a family home he destroyed. He killed the woman & children he found in it while raiding Eschbach. All he knows is that the family name was Fyrwin.
