The Crown Prince, Nathan XI is only a child, but people can already tell that he’ll be just as good looking as his father, Nathan Applegarth X, the King, once he grows up.
The old tradition of arranging marriages and having Royal children be betrothed at an early age was broken for young Nathan’s sake. The King felt it would be better if the Prince figured out for himself if his future spouse should be a female or a male, and allow the Prince to marry for, instead of politics. Since Lacedaemon is only a figurehead monarchy these days, a Royal marriage doesn’t have the same unifying power between nations that it used to, so the King saw no reason to carry on the backwards tradition.
