Lacedaemon
Lacedaemon is one of the oldest Hellenistic worlds in the galaxy. It predates New Mycenae even, if only by a few years. Unlike New Mycenae, Lacedaemon is still a thriving civilization. Both systems are close to the Galactic center, but not close enough to be in danger from the supermassive black hole there. They are on opposite sides of the center of galaxy, though. Both worlds have ruins of older, Mayan, settlements, but very little is known about those.
Lacedaemon is known for being the best Hellenistic ship builders in the galaxy, and are also pioneers in other technologies, such as manufacturers of space folders and for growing buildings tall enough to reach low orbit altitudes.
The planet is also known for many types and brands of alcoholic beverages, including bourbon.
