Mt. Eurotas

Mt. Eurotas towers over the Strait of Amyclas and the Capital, Taygete, half of which is built on the sloping strip of land between the mountain and the strait. The other half of the city is on the other side of the strait, plus on a few island in between, linked by bridges.

Steps are carved into the rock face of the mountain, from the city, to the Royal Palace of Lacedaemon on the two peaks of the mountain.
