Gamora <WIP>
Gamora Zen Whoberi Ben Titan (a.k.a. Requiem)
She took part in a number of significant battles in Galactic history, including the defeat of Ronan the Accuser on Xandar, destruction of Planet Ego, the repelling of the Universal Church of Truth from the Deneb System, the Battle of Seatle, and the Battle of Xandar.
After the death of her sister Nebula, who sacrificed herself to enable Gamora to acquire the Soul Stone, Gamora left the Guardians to seek a way to restore her sister to life using the Infinity Stones, taking the name Requiem to hide her identity.
Physical Description
Physical quirks
Gamora has been cybernetically altered by Thanos, although the modifications are less extensive than her sister, Nebula.
Special abilities
Gamora possesses Super-Strength, Super-Agility, enhanced Stamina and Reflexes, and a Regenerative Healing Factor, all far above the abilities of a nnormal Zehoberei.
Specialized Equipment
She weilds the sword Godslayer, which was gifted to her by Corvus Glaive as thanks for Gamora saving Proxima Midnight's life during Thanos's war against the Klyntar for control of planet Ryas.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
See Timeline, below.
Gender Identity
The Zehoberei did not have distinct genders, and the species had only a single biological sex. However, since her late childhood, Gamora has lived among other species, the majority of whom belong to sexually diamorphic species.
As a result of being treated and referred to as female by Thanos and others, she uses feminine pronouns in languages which have gendered pronouns, and will identify herself as female if asked, although she has no particularly strong feelings on the subject herself, and does it primarily for ease.
Sexuality
Having only one biological sex, the Zehoberei did not have a concept of sexuality as it is envisioned by most sexually diamorphic species. She is attracted to humanoids, and more of her sexual partners have been male than female or other, but this is more due to who finds her attractive than any particular personal preference.
Education
Until the massacre of the Zehoberei when she was 16 (still a child by the standards of the long-lived Zehoberei) she recieved the standard education of her people, learning to read and write Zehoberei, to forage and hunt and cook what she found, and to write and recite poetry. She also learned galactic standard as a second language.
After she was taken by Thanos, her education was dictated by his whims, but included the study of history, especially military history, galactic languages, strategy, and mathematics. Her primary teacher for most of these subjects was not Thanos, but Ebony Maw. However, the majority of her lessons were in combat skills and martial arts, taught by Thanos himself, assisted by various members of the Black Order.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Gamora is widely accepted to be the most dangerous woman in the galaxy.
Mental Trauma
Gamora has survived extreme amounts of trauma, beginning with witnesses the massacre of half of her species, including her parent, when she was a child, which eventually lead to the exstinction of the entire species.
After being kidnapped by Thanos, she was forced to fight to survive, with the threat of death if she was to fail ever present. She was forced to kill for the first time when she was 20 (considered a young teen or pre-teen by the standards of her species), and took part in the first massacre of a species when she was 28, assisting in the slaughter of Nebula's species, the Luphomoids.
After Thanos adopted Nebula (and later Moondragon), the sisters would regularly be pitted against one another physically and emotionally, forced to compete for Thanos's favour. The loser, almost always Nebula, due to her being younger and less experienced than Gamora, was subjected to horrific cybernetic experimentation, and Gamora had to find a way to live with the guilt from that in order to survive.
She was also subjected to experimentation herself, although less extensive than her sister.
As a result of these experiences, she suffers from CPTSD, and has many deeply unhealth modes of thinking, especially about interpersonal relationships, which she is still in the process of unpicking.
Morality & Philosophy
Gamora has had to examine and create her own morality as an adult, after decades of being forced to participate in slaughter on an unimaginable scale. She has come to believe very strongly in the importance of helping others and fighting for those she loves, but has no issue with killing those she believes deserve it.
Social
Family Ties
She has two adopted sisters, Nebula, and (following reality being altered by Michael Korvac) Moondragon.
Prior to reality being altered, she and Nebula had a strained relationship, due to Thanos pitting them against one another, and favouring Gamora. After Korvac's interferance, their history was changed so that Moondragon was Thanos's favoured child, which led to Gamora and Nebula beginning to repair their relationship after Moondragon was adopted, as they banded together against their new sister.
