Tumbleton

Tumbleton is one of the few places of note in the Greenfields south of Elturel.
Founded in 1372 by Gregory Tumbleton, the small town is built around the Gregory Tumbleton University, a prestigious place of learning despite the settlement's remote location.
Tumbleton entered into history in 1491, when it served as the first major attack of the Great Dragon War, where the Cult of the Dragon's leader, Don Rel, was masquerading as a professor. During the attack, the university's Aethercore was stolen, but the town avoided total destruction thanks to the efforts of Mariana Goldfinch, Malachor Wolfsbane, Legolass Darkblade, and Amber, who were students at the university.

Demographics

Tumbleton's lifeblood is the university. In fact, about half of the town's population are university students. The permanent residents of Tumbleton are predominately Human, but the university attracts a wide variety of comers, from Dwarves and Elves, to Half-dragons and genasi.

Government

The university, as well as the settlement, are both run by the president of the university. Tolm LeNoir is the current president, taking office in early 1491.

Defences

Tumbleton University's strong walls serve as the center of town defense. In addition to its walls, the university is protected by the Aethercore, a magical barrier that prevents non residents from entering.

Infrastructure

Despite it's small size, Tumbleton is a well developed settlement. The town possess a windmill and watermill. In addition, Tumbleton University possess luxuries not often seen outside cities, such as a sewage system and plumbing.
