Scriptures of Harmony

You must embrace the good and the evil of this world as they are one in same and to have one to exist without the other would leave a lack of understanding of what they truly meant - Usagi, the Enlightened One

Purpose

The scriptures were created by the holy philosopher Usagi to teach the ways of the Balance to restore harmony to the land in times of darkness and turmoil. The scriptures contain a large amount of philosophical ideals and guidance to those who seek the right path to enlightenment.

Document Structure

Publication Status

The Scriptures themselves are restricted due to their importance and are only accessible to the abbots and gurus for guidance and know not to abuse them for other means. It is said to be found in the Monastery of the Truths on the Heavenly Pillar where Usagi learned the truth.

Legal status

As a holy document and being apart of the four faith of the archipelago, it legal to exist.

Historical Details

History

Usagi saw the world in disharmony and wanted to set it straight. But wanted to think about how to do it first, so he decided to climb the Heavenly Pillar for he had a dream and believed that it would give him the answers he sought. But he did not leave the mountain for ten long years for he meditated and realized that nothing was wrong with the word for all things knew their place. It was just mankind that seemed to have lost its place in the world and wanted to guide them to the balance of all things. He wrote down all he had learned for others to learn to pass onto future generations. It was from this that new faith was born to guide those into acceptance and understanding.

Public Reaction

Those who listen to Usagi's words and teaching became his disciples and from these disciples, they create their own order, the Disciples of the Balance to bring balance to all who sought for it and to preserve it when it was needed.

Legacy

The scriptures are still used to this day as a document to guide those lost into enlightenment and seek to bring harmony into the world.

The Fourteen Guiding Principles

Enjoy what you have in life for it will not last forever.
A life without suffering is not life, only a pale imitation of it.
Everything has a purpose in the world no matter what it may be.
Death gives us more of a reason to cherish life and hold it dear to us.
All things must come to an end, but from that end, new beginnings can take their place.
Keep moving forward and never look back for what’s done is done and it cannot be changed.
Keep in mind that the only enemy you have in life is within you and only you can conquerer it to live a good life.
To be ruled by your emotions is to be forever trapped in a cage, never knowing what is right.
Only fools claim to know everything, while a Wiseman always seeks to learn more.
There is always something worth fighting for.
Give back to the world so it may prosper for others to enjoy.
Never judge without knowing both side's stories, it may surprise you.
It is better to love more rather than hate, for one gives you comfort and the other suffering.
Remember the good times and the bad times for that means you have lived.

An Understanding of the World

On Life and Death

Life is a precious thing that should always be considered precious for it never lasts forever. Death is but a natural thing that gives meaning to that idea as it comes to all living things. To cling to life is only a natural thing to do for all, but when death smile at you the only thing you can do is smile back and be great as an old friend. Though there will be mourning and sorrow that come from it, know that happiness will come when a new life comes to take its place.

On Love and Hate

Love is a powerful thing that all things are capable of, it can cause them to do great and terrible things to hold onto it. But love is not forever and it is not always kind, but it is worth every moment it is true and should be cherished long after to move on. Though the things we care for will leave they will always be in our hearts. Hate on the other hand brings nothing but pain where ever it goes, it is an instrument of fear that wishes to drown all who touch. But hate sometimes needs to protect what is important in life at times. Just do not let it consume you for too long and learn to forgive when the time is right.

On Revenge and Forgiveness

Revenge is natural for someone to feel wronged and is extent that of how server it can be. To lose something or someone precious in your life will lead you down a dark path that will destroy and leave you nothing in the end. But it is better to forgive but never forget to avoid such a thing from ever happening again. For revenge is a never-ending cycle of hate that consumes all who touch. The only way to stop it is to break it through compassion and compromise.

On Happiness and Sorrow

All strive to find happiness in life, some find it through bonds or duty. But it will never last as bonds break and duty fails from time to time, leaving sorrow. But to only know happiness is to never know suffering and pain. Making it meaningless to those who do not know it. But when sorrow comes, it shows the true value of what it meant to them. But to find new happiness long after sorrow shows growth and acceptance of what it means to find happiness.

On Chaos and Order

The foundations of the world that constantly clash with one another. But both can coexist with one another for they both have things desired in life such as freedom and protection to live life. But to favor one side over the other will lead to nothing but further struggle as the people who live in it will suffer no matter what people may believe in. But though compromise these two opposites can benefit all into living a better life.

On Man and Nature

Mankind has always believed that they could control nature for they can change it at will. But control is an illusion that blinds those from the truth. No matter how hard one may try, one can never change the nature of a beast or change what a seed will grow into. Through they build over it too, will always return in time for it is in its nature. They will never truly own something that was never theirs, to begin with. Man is but a small part of nature that should accept all things that come from it. To fight against it will only cause pain for all things.

On Time and Change

Time is something that all should use wisely for it will never come back once it passes. Every moment of it should be a gift and should be used for the meaning and the important things in life. Just as the season comes and goes show what it means to truly change. Though change may not always bring prosperity it is all the more welcomed for clinging to the past will bring no future to those who are bound by it.

On Will and Destiny

Destiny is something that many either try to defy or to accept for it cannot be stopped. But the truth is that all things are connected by it to give meaning to it. But this does not mean that your choices do not matter at all, for all the choices you made in life are yours and yours alone for they had led you to moments in time that will change your life. Destiny may be all-powerful but it will never change who you are or who you want to be.

On Good and Evil

To some good and evil is how the world works. But the truth is these are only two different perspectives of what they believe is right. For no one is born evil nor are they born good. Only the world itself and how they interact with it make them believe what they believe is right and wrong. Just as there is light and there is darkness each one has their part to play in the grand design that is life. But it does mean they cannot be guided towards the right path no matter how long.

On War and Peace

Life is conflict and war is but an extension of it and as long as there is life there will always be war. Sides will be chosen and life will be lost, but the world will still stand and it will heal with time. But keeping the peace is harder than making war for it all depends on those who wish to make it last. For only through trust and understanding can peace last for a long time and can be enjoyed by all. But try to hold onto that peace is like a waking dream that can never be achieved. For every sun must set and it is best to prepare for the next conflict to come.

Knowing the Way

Finding Inner Peace in One’s Self

Life has its up and downs that can cause one to feel insignificant and small. Though the only one that can stop you is you. No one can say you cannot do this or that if you put your mind to it. Let not emotions cloud your judgment and let not others decide what you want to do with your life. But know that you do not have to do all of this alone, let in those who are close to you and stand by your side if they believe in you. Understand the world rather than fighting it. Let go of material values for they never last and hold close to the important things in life. Clear your mind of worldly problems for they do not matter and only see the real problems that are more important. For once you have conquered your troubles, lend a helping hand to others so they may find what they are looking for in life. That is how one can truly find peace when they have accepted the world for what it is and live within rather than against it.

Bringing Balance to the World

The world can be a place where all things struggle, but just surviving is not living. To live is to know all the experiences the world has to offer for you, it may not always be pleasant but it is worth experiencing. The Balance preserves all things in the world and gives them a purpose for existing and brings harmony to the land. But for this to happen, people must not succumb to ignorance and be blinded by hubris for if they do the land will suffer and then all will suffer. By accepting all things that happen in the world, harmony shall be restored and all who accept it will find peace within themselves knowing that they will live their life to the fullest.

Only the Truth

The truth is something that should never be altered or abused for one's personal gain. For it is something that belongs to all to be to know to enlighten themselves and follow the true path. Lies are the poison that twists and corrupts the mind into making them believe whatever someone says. But the truth is not something that cannot be forced on someone no matter how much they are blinded from it. They must be willing to accept it willing to truly embrace it. For all who do accept it shall know what is right and wrong in the world.
