Malum Auctori Royal Family
The Malum Auctori Royal Family is the current ruling family of Malum Auctori, headed by Emperor Caracalla Obrianna and previously the late Empress Clea Obrianna. The Royal Family has reigned supreme in this World for over a millenia, and any given royal family member is considered above the law that all other Auctori abide by. The other members of the family include Commodus Obrianna, Aurora Obrianna, and Livia Obrianna.
Malum Auctori runs on a rigid hierarchy, with the Emperor and/or Empress sitting at the very top. Their heir/s have many of the same social and political powers that the rulers wield, however the rulers' wishes are prioritised in cases of disputes. Further, when there are disputes between heirs the eldest of said heirs have priority and when there are disputes between an Emperor and Empress, the ruler with the strongest blood tie to the Obrianna bloodline has priority. As the Royal Family cannot control the entirety of their empire by their lonesome, the family elects leaders (High Magistrates) for each major settlement, who in turn recruit and hire an inner circle to assist them in matters of governing. The members of these circles of politicians, known as Magistrates, work in locations known as Curias.
A Curia is typically a rounded structure with seats meticulously laid out in circular patterns around a central pillar. Those who wish to address the Magistrates stand on the pillar when speaking to them. There are three tiers of pillar (small, medium, and large) that can be used depending on one's social status. The pillars are two metres tall (intended for commoners or plebians), four metres tall (intended for magistrates or wealthy citizens), and eight metres tall (intended for royalty), respectively. While anyone can take the pillar to speak, only the High Magistrate or a member of the Royal Family can pass legislation raised in a Curia. However, if there is a person of significant repute with knowledge surrounding any given legislation that is being discussed who has something to add to the discussion, they must be heard out prior to said legislation being approved or denied. The only people who can bypass this restraint is the current Emperor and/or Empress.

The current Emperor of Malum Auctori. Caracalla Obrianna is the eldest son of the previous ruler: Empress Justinia Obrianna, and has maintained a strong rule for the past twenty two years as Emperor. He has headed the debates between the Auctori and the Teleans and is believed to be the one who motioned for the Yilvykians to be considered hostile combatants after The Split, resulting in Yilvykian clans being banned from Spider space. He has always attended the annual Galactic Bridges as a representative for Malum Auctori up until recently, wherein Aurora Obrianna has taken on this duty.Commodus Obrianna
Eldest son of the Emperor, Commodus Obrianna was previously slated to become the new Emperor once his father passes away, however recently he seems to have abandoned his post in its entirety. Commodus is an Auctori who has an above average build (a fact that has always spawned rumours surrounding his lineage) making him appear to be destined for a military role. For many years he was a general in his father's army, but he abruptly left his role in the Malum Auctori military structure, taking the regiment of soldiers that served under him with him. This sect that broke away from their homeworld came to form one of the most fearsome criminal gangs in the galaxy: The Wild Araneae Gang.Aurora Obrianna
Eldest daughter and middle child of the Emperor, Aurora Obrianna is the current heir apparent to her father's position. She is the most politically minded of all her siblings, and is respected by all Auctori. She has begun taking on more responsibilities of the Emperor in his old age, including: representing the Auctori in Galactic Bridges, representing the Auctori for the Spider Alliance, mobilising the Malum Auctori military, and enforcing trade embargos. In a period of increasing galactic instability all of the Auctori look to her for guidance, and even many of the Donerthians and Nurnites seem to respect her more than their leaders.Livia Obrianna
Youngest daughter of the Emperor, Livia Obrianna is a light in the darkness for many Auctori. Freshly entering adulthood, she is seen as a symbol of innocence and better days to come by the residents of Malum Auctori. She has become responsible for grand ceremonial practices in Auctori culture and because of this has become a figurehead for the Royal Family. Where Commodus is feared and Aurora is respected, Livia Obrianna is beloved.
