United Leagues of Earth
Fertilised by the ashes of nuclear war, we have cultivated paradise.The successor of the United Nations, the United Leagues of Earth is the government in control of Earth and a plurality of human space. It has by far the highest population and GDP of any human state, and is renowned for its advanced technology and high living standards. The ULE was formed in the 23rd Century following the War of the Leagues, in which several rival geopolitical blocs fought for dominance of Earth and the Solar System, ending in a limited nuclear exchange. Despite being founded as a result of an inconclusive nuclear war, the ULE has maintained remarkable stability and prospoerity for most of its history, particularly after the volatile 2240s and 2250s. Earth's economy is almost entirely automated, and strict environmental regulations have made the cradle of humanity into a near paradise. Even extrasolar colony worlds and habitats enjoy much of the same prosperity.
