Cillian returned on his ship to the lands of the Old Realm. Secretly aided by Velaric in his attempt to reclaim the Lion's Throne. Cillian made a treaty with Malakith to start a war against the Lion Kingdom to prevent them from entering the war as they were invading the Barbary Republic.
