Gungark Horde
The Gungark Horde
Born from war and shaped by violence, the Gungark Horde is a brutal faction of orcs that has long plagued the Old World. Originally brought over by the Modern World as living weapons—feral, bloodthirsty creatures bred only for slaughter—the orcs were discarded once the Old Wars came to an end. Left abandoned, they retreated into the Gungark Mountains, where they slowly forged a new way of life. Over generations, they developed a crude but functional society, mastering oral language and even a rough form of writing, though literacy remains a rare skill among them.
Despite their evolution, the orcs remain savage warriors, raiding and pillaging any who dare cross their path. The people of the Illiad, Grimholt, and the Watch have long suffered their brutality, and the Lion Kingdom has fought countless battles to contain their relentless aggression. A Chieftain—often the strongest or most cunning among them—leads the horde, though their rule is never stable, as challengers constantly seek to overthrow them.
Historically, the Dark Ones and other nefarious forces have used the horde as mere instruments of destruction. The infamous sorcerer Valeric the Deceiver once bent the orcs to his will, forcing them into endless wars in his name. Even the dragons of Dragonia once hired orcs as mercenaries to raid Falconia and the Lion Kingdom, forging a relationship of mutual benefit. However, as Dragonia shifted away from its warlord past, the orcs lost a valuable ally—and with it, much of their power and influence.
Yet, a slow change stirs within the orcs. Though rare, a handful have begun to question their ways, seeking lives beyond endless bloodshed. Some have even left the Horde entirely, attempting to integrate into human society—a shameful betrayal in the eyes of their kin. One such orc, Brall’gar, abandoned his savage name and took the identity of Drakar, now a blacksmith in Falconia. His mere existence is an insult to the Horde, a reminder that not all orcs are bound by their violent past.
Now, the Gungark Horde stands at a crossroads. Without a steady patron to direct their wrath, they are left to their own devices, an unpredictable and deadly force in the Old World. Whether they will rise to forge a new destiny or fall into chaos once more remains to be seen.
