Seabird's Rest

The Seabird's Rest is a small-occupancy boat with a proud history. It was first owned by Tremmew's family as a charter boat, then purchased by Salibret and converted to a conduit transport for her planned humanitarian aid fleet. She used it to carry patients to Galtern for specialized medical care--including, once, Salibret herself.

Partly due to its small size and partly due to sheer luck, Seabird's Rest made it through the debris fall after the 2030 Vol twin eruptions of Zaiyev with only a layer of ash. Delu appropriated it for the Dissolvers' fleet, renaming it Featherdown and painting it dark blue for nighttime stealth work.

Despite the change in its name and appearance, Alcendis recognized the boat because the feather carvings in its prow were a signature of Tremmew's. As Salibret's daughter she reclaimed her property, then donated it to the new Allied Isles on the condition they organize a new humanitarian fleet.

Propulsion

Seabird's Rest is a conduit-compatible boat with a small sail for the distance between the dock and the conduit. It is a double-hull/single-hull hybrid, among the first to be so modified, with the central chain-drive hull out of the water during sail and the two outer hulls retracting for conduit travel.
