The original Heroes of Bloodstone came together in 1356 and were a force to be reckoned with through to 1369 when the Second Bloodstone War ended. For a decade the band were single-handedly responsible for ending the threat of the Grandmaster of Assassins and turning back Zhengyi's invasion; which had captured all of Bloodstone Valley and large parts of Damara all the way to, and including, the capital during the First Bloodstone War.   Llysander and the heroes battled the Vaasan forces (and its dangerous allies: a coven of bestial Warlocks, Witches, and Fiends) at every turn. With their heroic shock troop army known as The Bloodstone Host, they confronted Zhengyi's leadership core in 1365 on the Tempest Cliffs in Bloodstone Valley and destroyed the Witch King; first by killing him and then by sundering his body to the depths of the Abyss before he could enact one of his revivification magics. Within a year of that epic battle they had successfully pushed all of the invaders back beyond the Vaasa Gate.   All of this to say nothing of successfully bringing the Dwarven Clan of the Hammerhanded back from the brink of extinction (and helping to establish good relations with their Human neighbors). Throw in a few adventures to the elemental planes, preventing the oppression of a psychic warrior named The Rooster and expanding the trade of exotic materials from the Galena Mountains, and the reasons for their reverence are well understood. They did create enemies - and while most of their foes were permanently vanquished, some slunk away defeated but not destroyed.   But that decade of heroism and successful adventure was 30 years ago... few of their band survive today and none of their offspring have risen to the challenge of walking in their footsteps. As Vaasa slid quickly back into total disorganization, Damara became complacent and simply continued to reap the benefits of the strong resource economy granted them by the mines.   Today the heroes are just fond memories; sauce for tales spun by bards.   An asterisk beside the name indicates that the hero is believed to be (or known to be) still alive.
