Hammerhand Grothelbeez

(good) Dwarven Fighter/Cleric Male, Current Primarch of the Hammerhanded   Llysander knew him only as his strangely engaging friend "Hammerhand" for years. That changed when the Dwarf believed his life was over in the mines of Bloodstone. Certain of his imminent death he opened up and told Llysander everything about the dark fate of the Hammerhanded Clan. He did not perish in those mines, and after healing he explained that his name was actually Grothelbeez, one of the last of a disgraced clan that was all but gone.

Together with his friend Llysander, Grothelbeez was able to pull together other members of the diaspora and finally locate and retake the top-side fortress of the Halls of the Hammerhanded in 1362. Many Dwarves and Humans died, but finally the main scourge infesting the ancient city was destroyed. While the main war is won, the battles are on-going and Grothelbeez is both the spiritual and corporeal leader of the Hall (see the entry on Hall of the Hammerhanded for details).   The continuous skirmish battles for the past decades have sapped the charm and vigor of Grothelbeez' youth. His years are now long and his health is not good. Even with magical healing so many injuries have left pain behind. His hands are losing strength and the frigid mountainous cold, once trivial, now bites down to his bones. He stands still as the Primarch of the Clan (the ancient word they used for their leader-priest-king) but he knows he must soon choose his successor.   Grothelbeez was always a very good looking Dwarf and his charismatic sense of humor is well known. His skills with axes and hammers were the stuff of legend. His hair is grey and thin now, but once it was flame red and covered his head, face and body. His arms are marked with Dwarvish tattoos, their meaning tied to the deaths and births of his real and adopted family. His eyes are granite grey and even though he is tired he can hold a gaze without blinking for days. None have ever seen him flinch.
