The Shrine to the Fallen
Nestled between braided roots at the base of the Grand Aetheria Tree is a field of wooden, moss-covered statues arranged in loose rings. All the statues are humanoid and most have the common features of Aetherians (horns, folded or pointed ears). Despite the vast number of them, each has been carved and woven with a level of detail that indicates tremendous love and respect… for each statues marks a grave where an Aetherian was returned to the earth; to begin another turn of the Cycle of Life and Death and to nourish the Grand Aetheria Tree itself.
Tucked within the grove of grave-markers is a shrine featuring a simple altar upon which the Aetherians leave small gifts. Directly behind the altar is a purposefully vague humanoid figure. Although dead, they are cradled in the arms of the four Evads: Vale, Chasca, Saffra, and Eden. Various names are carved across the altar and on the anonymous figures; names of all the Aetherians who have perished since the Mind Blight claimed Idyllis. A somber silence pervades the area around the shrine, dispersing throughout the grove.
