The Anyasat
Nestled into a gentle bend in the Grand Aetheria Tree's trunk is a sprawling complex of connected halls and chambers. A few rooms are divided by a heavy wooden door with an extra set of locks that can only be activated by an Aetherian weaver; Most rooms, however, are divided only by a curtain of wooden beads, woven flowers, and a mosaic of leaves. The complex features a variety of amenities, including kitchens, gardens, outdoor terraces with tables and games, and a very niche medical ward. Designed like a community center, this space – the Anyasat or the "Mothers Quarters" – is designed to help young and first-time parents prepare for and adjust to parenthood. Many of the hallways are lined with the symbols of Chasca and small carvings of her likeness. At any one time, approximately 1/3 of the rooms are in use... and many remain empty. Perhaps once, they were all full.
As early as 3 months before their due date, women will often transfer into one of the rooms of the Anyasat. There, they can be more easily monitored by trained clerics, healing-oriented druids, and midwives (often within their summer years). Spouses and partners are also welcome to move in. Aetherian women, particularly young and first-time mothers, will often spend up to 2 years here where they (and their newborn) continue to be monitored by midwives and are surrounded by support from a whole community. Children are also welcome within the Anyasat, but their movements are often restricted (hence the heavier doors) so that they do not wander where they should not be.
